Idk who can beat him. Took an olympic medalist to make the weight interesting. Only serious challenge right now seems to be Trent. Truax maybe. Dude seems to be on a ridiculous trajectory. Only guy within striking distance of the weight who I may choose against him would be Starocci and obviously that match can't happen.

@@xEvolutionx-ui5bn I think you’re confusing confidence with cocky. Everything he has said on social media has been true, and he has executed on everything he’s said. He believes in his coaching, his ability, and his discipline. That can come off as cocky to people who just don’t understand.

@@jt519I think you’re right but also confused. As a fan of Carter he’s Cocky. He’s confident yes, but you’d have to be blind not to see he’s Cocky. But he has a right to be so, he stays true to himself and what he does. Carter in my opinion has a good but tiny flawed mindset. He called UFC and the Olympics “easy.” That’s cocky. He said he was going to win his 3rd title, that’s confidence. There’s a difference. As he stated “he’s the level” that’s both cocky and confidence mixed together. Again I don’t really see this as a bad thing. If he can back up his talk then no reason to hate on the dude 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Seems to be the Sanderson strategy for his big-time wrestlers, don't take too many chances, but get them down early and ride them out for as long as you can. The more points the better obviously, but also, PSU has 3 redshirt freshman who all are going to be big factors in this years NCAA Championship. We could be seeing 8 or 9 all Americans out of Penn State this run, and maybe 5 or 6 from Iowa, and that is an insane possibility but still a possibility nonetheless.

Smart strategy in the second period. He knew homeboy was gonna get an escape so he purposefully takes it out of bounds. Especially when the ref won't call stalling. Cheap but effective. Casual wrestling fan that doesn't know a whole lot about the sport here. While Brooks' rideout is impressive - I'm not trying to diminish what he did, but don't you feel like he was stalling? I think it was obvious that all he wanted to do was keep Amine on the mat the whole match and Brooks made no attempt at all to try and get back points or attempt to pin Amine. I found that a lot of the other championship matches had a similar issue too (aside from Suriano, Lee, Yianni, and Steveson) - most guys were wrestling not to lose rather than constantly attempting to get points. It seems when some guys got a lead they were content with just not letting the other guy get any points on them rather than constant pressure and aggression. IMO that's the wrong mindset. You're never going to attract more casuals like myself unless there are CLEAR AND CONCISE rules regarding stalling.
