One of my worst mistakes working was using my hand as a hammer. I am reminded of it everyday now.

Exactly! I worked for a R.R. for many years. We used to kick the tool we used to get under the spike to pull them out of the tie. A old timer told us young bucks that we would need those toes and foot for something else in the years to come. He was right!

Next addition to the tile plow, a seat for MBTS to sit and watch the tile flow through the boot.

MBTS would look like Edith Ann sitting back there, the woman who dressed up like a little girl, sat in the big rocking chair with her feet dangling and when she was done talking she’d say, “and that’s the truth” then stick her tongue out and give a raspberry. 😂

Take a grinder, and lightly grind a grove in the end of the pins, in line with the retaining bolt hole. That’ll give you a permanent indicator of which way the pins need to turn for the holes to line up. That was a mess, for sure! Thanks for the video.

First, wanted to thank you for the video's. Second, I've noticed that either Farmer Chris or you do not install animal guards or sections of soild PVC or SDR pipe at your tile outlets. Having retired from SCS/NRCS, I'd highly recommend it be considered as the ABS black will deteriate over time when exposed to sunlight.

Hello from the Netherlands . this was a nice job for a split screen video where the 1st camera stays at the end of the tile pipe so you can see how fast water comes out of the pipe. and the 2nd camera films the "regular" video. and then the two camera positions mounted next to each other in a video. but maybe that is a bit too much video work to ask for . I have no idea how hard something like this is to put together. but the idea is nice haha thanks for the video DP and Aaron . Sincerely Hollandduck

Now FC got few more acres that he can farm. I understand that you can't video all the jobs, do to timing, probably more so privacy issues and not all glamorous 😂, but we appreciate them all. FYI....Perched groundwater is unconfined groundwater separated from an underlying body of groundwater by an unsaturated zone. It occurs when subsurface water percolating downward is held by a bed or lens of low-permeability material.

farmed a few fields like that when i was working for my cousin , we were mowboard plowing (10/18in) after we plowed the field i would go in and run drainage ditches with the big plow leaving a wide shallow ditch to drain , not many people around here use tiles and that was 20 years ago too Have Fun with the "New Plow"

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Nice to see the teamwork come together so nicely on a mess of a job. Wishing you and your family the best. Just curious if you have seen Edison trucks from Canada. They are building hybrid logging trucks from scratch as a start up. They recently did an episode in how they had to go straight to China to spec out and buy electric drive axels because nobody in the North American market would sell to them. As a result they are now an importer of electric drive axels. The axels they are using are about 1000hp per axel and they are looking to be able to add power axels to the logging trailers also to get into even rougher terrain. They use a Cat engine hooked to a generator to keep the batteries charged. All I could think while watching the videos was, wouldn’t 2000hp of drive axels be a nice addition to Lt Dan. If you sized the motor generator correctly you could maybe be able to use it as a charging station for a possible loan from Volvo. The key element is they are making the motors compatible with off the shelf axel components so you aren’t dependent on them for most of the drive train.

Start GPS ing all tile you run. And a file on it. 40 years from now it will be appreciated. Either keep points on maps and screen shot or print hard copy at home in file cabinet. Even 5 yrears from now. If property changes hands. Or what ever. GPS is accurate mostly to around 4 feet.
