I do as well. I try to hide my service as much as possible....many things didn't go well, I made mistakes, I wish I could go back and do things different and be able to serve another 11 yeas and be able to retire from the Army...but my grave was dug, its over now, and I try and hide the fact that I spent 12 years in the Army, and served 18 months in Iraq. I let a lot of people down, lost some rank, got out the wrong way, and well....its over and done with now, and kick myself for my terrible choices. Nothing hangs on the walls at home to show my service. I threw everything away that I had related to the military, and wish I could forget that I did serve. Many of my fellow classmates signed that line right out of high school as well in 2002 for one branch of service or another....but I wish I could go back and start over and do it all again with a different attitude and better guidance. Too late now of course, but it is what it is, and I don't deserve to have any recognition of my service and I hate the fact that some people do know I served.

Why should someone not kneel? I spent 10 years in the Marine Corps and I chose to go sign those papers. We all do it voluntarily because we love this country. The least we can do is pay respect to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. God bless them
@shyowl34535 жыл бұрын
@@THEOGCRB I think you misunderstood Mrs Melissa above, if I understood the comment right she was referencing colin capernick (or however its spelled) kneeling in protest of perceived discrimination against blacks in America, she was saying the fact that good men go to war defending our country and our flag and national anthem represents that, that kneeling in protest during our anthem is disrespectful to the people who have died for us fighting for our freedoms, kneeling in protest of the anthem is disrespectful to those who have died, kneeling at the grave of a fallen brother is very much respectful assuming its at the right time ie not during a time when one must be at attention, the kneeling shes talking about is disrespecting those who have died, the kneeling you are thinking of if I am right is completely meant in respect, I hope that answers your question and thank you for doing the job you choose to do
@clifftrapp46795 жыл бұрын
No it ain’t. The reason we are fighting is to preserve liberty, supposedly. That includes the liberty to NOT have to kneel for anyone or anything. That’s freedom.
