Aaron lost all respect from me when it was revealed that he never even spoke to Zach Wilson all last year. I get that Zach was never gonna win that starting job back, but seriously man? You've got a young QB out there who is at no risk of taking your job who is definitely going to a different team soon, and you can't give him some pointers. You can't give him some advice on how to make it in the league? Nope. Just sat there and made the whole season about himself while putting even more pressure on Wilson by saying IF the team makes the playoffs he might make it back.

The problem with Rodgers is he got stuck with Mike McCarthy for so long that they needed a change and they didn’t. Rodgers started calling his own plays to spite Mike and was doing ok at it. Then he was getting pissed that the packers were (rightfully) releasing his buddies at the ends of their productivity instead of giving them a ton of money to die out. So now Rodgers thinks he can be coach gm play caller qb and team leader.

In 2023, there was an effort by Aaron Rodgers, who was new to the Jets that year, to connect with his teammates. That was unfortunately followed by no regular season because he went down on the fourth offensive play of the first game. 2024 was the exact opposite of 2023 and even included some silliness in the offseason, like rumors about Rodgers running for vice president with RFK. In the end, A-Rod didn’t fully connect with his teammates and his presence might be a bit toxic in the Jets locker room. What a sad way to end a first-ballot hall-of-fame career.

Imagine, if you will, a team with Hall, Wilson, Adams, a great defense, and still finding a way to lose.
@scottfletcher1956Күн бұрын
Their def isn’t that good. Have you watched the games ?? I’m completely unbiased and I’ve seen 5 games so far. In all of those games Rodger’s has been pressured consistently. And the def has trouble creating pressures. Most teams use a 2 deep zone and smother Wilson, that leaves breece and TE, until Adam’s came along. The same offensive line that’s allowing way too much pressure isn’t creating holes for hall either. Salah created a team that’s solid on defense, that is true, but it’s def at the offenses detriment. Hall isn’t even that good since the injury anyway. Watch the games. Rodger’s has def lost some mobility too, but that’s to be expected given the injury and his age.
@bsmartr806Күн бұрын
@scottfletcher1956 i have but have you really? The Jets defense is in the top third of the league. Rogers gets less pressure/sacks than alot of other QBs that find ways to win. Those same QBs are winning with less weapons than he has. They should win more games than the lose for the rest of the season, but this seasons failure will be solely on Rodgers. We are done with the excuses.

Rodgers hasn't been great by any means this year but people keep ignoring how bad the defense has been. If it was Saleh's job to only take care of the defense it's not like he was doing anything amazing on that front, the last I checked they were 24th in DVOA (the site I used locked this info) and PFF ranks them 25th currently. Rodgers deserves plenty blame too, he got everything he asked for on the offense and calls a ton of his own plays and is maybe the biggest reason that side of the ball is bad. But the entire org is a mess and has been for decades.

Funny, as a Jets fan since 1963, I was thinking it was time for you to do a Jets video. This season has been a failure on multiple levels. The owner, Woody Johnson, decided to fire Robert Saleh without having an experienced head coach on staff. Probably thinking the defensive coordinator could just "step into" the head coach job (I mean, after all, how hard could it be to do 2 jobs at once), Jeff Ulbrich was named interim head coach. Since that ill fated decision, the Jets once vaunted defense has regressed and become a huge embarrassment. Next, the owner brought in Davante Adams and Haason Reddick, overstepping the GM, Joe Douglas. As a result, the Jets are the football equivalent of the Frankenstein monster, some parts assembled by Saleh, some parts assembled by Douglas, and the remaining parts assembled by Johnson. It has not performed like a team all season. The offensive line does not work in unison, receivers drop passes and run wrong routes and don't act on audibles. One NY sports commentator mentioned how the Jets are cursed and their curse is so bad they have engulfed Aaron Rodgers. All told, this season has been a clusterf*&% of epic proportions for Jets fans.
