It’s so refreshing to see a boot taken apart that reveals that no shortcuts were taken by the manufacturer during construction (such as plastic rands, fiberboard heal stacks, etc). Great job to both Brian and Aaron.

Great job as usual, Aaron! Missed your videos. If I'm not mistaken, Brian doesn't do a full Blake McKay stitch on the boots, but just stitches the outsole and mid-sole together on a normal stitching machine.

I wish we had cobblers in our town. We have one , but would not take our boots there. I took my daughter’s boots there to have it resoled. Took one look and refused to take on the project. Not cool. But your work is superb. Keep up the good work

Fantastico! Perhaps there will be a Revive/RoleClub collabo one day... and jus take over the LA Boot Scene! Also, nice touch with the nails on the toe, similiar to how Brian does it... Classy!

I’m actually glad you are replacing the welt. It wouldn’t have felt right if you kept jt. 😂
@Coleone1396 минут бұрын
Ahh okay, this guy knows boots. How did you feel about him replacing the original 2 piece shank? I think it totally lost the arch, by using a new shank and hammering it out on the anvil, he got the anvils arch 🤔 I like this guy though, he’s a good dude and tries his best to do a good job. I enjoy his content 👍

I have several Red Wing boots and I would always go for the original sole, keeping the tradition going and keeping the boots closest to the original. But when you change to something different, it somehow loses that genuine feel to it. Well, that's just me. Excellent work by the way though.

those were in good shape tho. its not like he needed the resole right?
@JinsKookieJams2 күн бұрын
*He did. Especially the welt not looking too good as Aaron points out at **1:31**. You typically don't want the welt to get too bad, where its almost wearing into the uppers. You also want to get a resole before the soles wear into the midsole. Also, the customer likely switched the rubber outsoles for comfort reasons. Just a guess for that though. People have all sorts of reasons for needing a resole.*

Cool. If a shoemaker knew the welt would not be reused, would he make the shoe differently?

How durable are Dr soles green in your opinion?
@InGrindWeCrust20102 күн бұрын
I've had very good luck with the Dr. Sole Super Grip, at least. Comparable to Vibram V-bar and Quabaug heels. And they're nice and THICK!

I just saw your videos for the first time. I'm blown away by your work and the green heel and sole combination. You do awesome work. I live in Fredericksburg Virginia. How much would that cost me that on my boots. I know shipping will cost me more thanks and I did subscribe to your channel. ❤❤❤❤

The arch profile.. it was lost. It looked much better originally, you should’ve kept the original 2 piece shank. By using a new one and hammering it on the anvil, you gave it the anvil’s arch. That might work for generic service boots, but it this case you needed to watch out for that waist section man. Look at the finished arch, it’s a flat slant now. Otherwise, this guys a decent cobbler. He’s still learning, but he’s clean and consistent, and needs feedback like this to improve future builds.

P.S.Why did you put nails in the front of the boots. Never seen that done before buddy.

@@masterlink_1lol alright boss, I have a pair of these, I wear them, I take care of them, they still get patina. If they sit on the mantle like a trophy well then sure they’ll always look great. Boots are meant to be worn. Also I’m not Gen Z…

I always loved watching Brian work, but always hated the Role Club half soles. I think that's probably where i developed my dislike for half soles in general. I just keep imagining how much better his boots would look with full soles and/or lug soles.
