I had been looking for good quality earbud , initially had the Soundcore 4 and not satisfied, based on recommendations, I purchased the Nothing Ear 2. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because my call recipients could still hear background noise, even in relatively quiet office environments until finally I found the Huawei Buds 3 Pro, which completely muted all background noise, even in loud environments like the gym or on a train. For me, the most important aspect of good mic/call performance is ensuring that the person on the other end hears no distractions, especially high-pitched noises, which is crucial during my presentations. even my voice is slightly affected with an 's' sound, it's still much better than allowing sudden background noise to disrupt an important call , my verdict for the best call quality earbuds is huawei buds 3 pro, and looking forward to huawei buds 4 pro.

Man I just love my Huawei freedbuds.. I just came on here just to see the latest news about them… I was a plantronics 5200 guy so I never had issues with background noise but I couldn’t hear conversations although my callers could hear me fine..So to have noise cancellation and voice cancellation… I love them.. the only thing I miss is being able to MUTE myself.. and voice command to answer or ignore call…

FreeBuds Pro 3 have a high 22khz mic recording function. That works only with Mate 60 Pro, Mate X5, Pura 70 Series. That has even better mic quality. See my review. Old but still valid. Sadly the best performance with their LHDC Codec is also only available with one of the modern Huawei phones. Sounds better with them

From a musician's point of view, the Samsung Standard EQ setting is garbage, the midrange is very weak and closed. I am currently using freebuds pro 3, in the standard EQ setting it has a much fuller midrange, the trebles are extremely sharp and the resolution throughout the entire frequency band is extremely high. The only problem is that when absolute sound is disabled in the developer options and the headphone sound output is set to 80% or above, the eq becomes completely ineffective and the selected eq mode does not work.

The only buds that I think are better for calls are the galaxy buds 3 pro . I've used the freebuds pro 3 since they were originally released and they have lasted very well . Stating the pro 3 are not as good as the competition is not a fair comparison given they were released a while ago . They are more than good enough for their price . Also I think your mic tests are off slightly as u should have got better quality out of the freebuds pro 3 . Hopefully you can get hold of the pro 4 in a more timely manner. Keep up the great work 👍 I'm assuming you've put your order in for the JBL tour pro 3 right 😂

Tested them the same way as the others. Zoom call applied additional filtering from the app but otherwise similar. Pro 3 may have had the best mics last year, but people are claiming they're still the best which isn't true anymore in this current landscape. JBL launches very late in my country so I'll have to wait. 😁

I believe the "clash" between so many Noise Cancelling when doing zoom will degrade the quality of the mic. This is because the earbud has it's own NC, then (if using MacBook) the MacOS also has NC, then the Zoom/Teams will also have NC. So it will be triple time NC in one shot, which of course will affect the voice. Need to try this ....

You are absolutely correct. Discord is the most eggregious example. Using TWS with these apps, choose mild to no filtering for best results.

Thanks for the great review Aaron. However it does seem that there's a significant difference if you use the galaxy buds with a new phone such as the fold 6. The super wide band speech seems to improve the microphone perform significantly. Can you please confirm the device used to test the Samsung buds. I realise it's very difficult to have matching devices given the range of buds being tested but I hope in the future you'll be able to try the super wide band speech if you weren't able to this time.

Ohh ok, I see you Aaron lol. I think I prefer the mic performance of the Huawei Freebuds Pro 3 here. But like you said, there’s a couple of these other more recently released earbuds that are closing the gap or even sounding better for phone calls to some people, depending on preference and usage conditions. As I mentioned, I don’t really care about this one aspect all that much. I’ve seen that the Freebuds Pro 3’s strength is in their mic performance. They’re less than ideal or average at other things. This video seems to have brought some strong opinions out of some viewers though, heh.

Try it with the JVC EP-FX9 eartips. The sound quality will be much better. And the original global version has output restrictions compared to the domestic version, so it's a bit disappointing. If you use it for domestic use, the bass comes out really well.

One aspect that would be fantastic is an analysis of the frequency spread and its correctability with the app's EQ. Sometimes peaks are sitting right on one of the EQ sliders and easy to correct. And a mention of low base; eg. I tend to want to remove boom (eg. at 100Hz) and sometimes enhance low bass (though with the Soundcore NC4 I was forced to lower it as it was far too strong). I used to use paramtetric equalizers for this purpose, but IOS removed app audio access.

You can only use parametric EQs on Android now, unless the companion app on iOS has a parametric EQ like the Nothing's.

I'm a truck driver in the US after using tens of different headsets, earbuds, earpods, including the galaxy buds 3 pro for two days which by the way it's on its way back to Samsung and awaiting the arrival of oneplus buds 3 pro, I can honestly tell you that the huawei is the best mic on the market right now based on the feedback of hundreds of people I talk to while on the road, yes the Sony, galaxy and earpods have a very barley slightly better transparent mode which doesn't matter to me because most of the I wear one bud at a time while driving and listening to music same thing for Anc when I wear both on a call and after turning the music on they all sound the same, conclusion after using the huawei for almost six months bought a second pair as a spare unless the mic of the oneplus buds 3 pro mic is way better i don't see myself using a different earbuds any time soon, I wish you and other reviewers start making a real life condition reviews when it comes to mic's not a studio controlled environment noises or a cafe shop background noise. With all due respect Aaron the only statement I agree on with this video is all the restrictions, warnings and the extra steps you have to take to install the app on your phone but it's worth it.

I had the Huawei Free Buds Pro 3 paired to my 15 Pro Max & S21 and S24 Ultra before I lost them in a night out partying, those buds were phenomenal, tested them against Airpods Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds Pro...I chose to keep the Galaxy Buds & Free Buds 3 Pro...the call performance from the Huawei's were crazy, even in exreme noisy conditions.
