Couldn’t agree more! If I really like a dark oriental, chypre, gourmand, etc fragrance I’m going to wear it whenever I want lol and not give a damn haha. Like you, I generally have a love for darker per se fragrances anyways so I’m just going to wear them whenever I feel like it 👍

Here’s my take. Black Orchid is like an exotic animal. A viper that bites. A panther. A jet black peacock with purple and gold iridescent tail feathers. Essentially, it’s not for everyone. In fact, it’s not for most and that’s why I love it partly. It’s not the golden retriever scent crowd pleaser. It’s not the scent you wear because you want to be validated and loved, you wear it because you can validate and love yourself. No one else really matters. And if you don’t have that energy then don’t wear it. A lot of people online complain and whine about it because it scares them. Why? They’re basic. I don’t appreciate peoples reductive attempts to cage it and classify it. No, it doesn’t smell like a funeral home, or a goth girl, or a vampire. Wtf even is that? No you don’t just wear all black when it’s on. I’ve even read of people wearing it only on Halloween or only the month of October. Black orchid is not some costume party trick you put on to feel interesting for the first time in your life and then quickly remove as to not offend anyone or society. Black orchid is luxe. It’s GLAMOUR! This is the scent of a rock star, of a siren, of a rebel who knows how to fvck! Nothing geriatric about it and it’s not for minors. Black orchid knows how to fvck and it does it well whether that’s a person, the rules, or society. This is not the scent for prudes, squares, impotents, rule followers, insecure babies, anxious ppl, or wallflowers. Black orchid is powerful, offensive, alluring, luxurious, vulgar, sweet, warm, dark, brooding, sinister, passionate, raunchy, horny, and polarizing. And the incredible thing is that it evolves the longer you wear. It opens up more and more and more for those who prove themselves to him. Idk, wearing black orchid is like being fvcked really well and completely dominated in the best way while being covered in bodily fluids and goosebumps…

First 30 mins of the smell might be hit or miss for some ppl as you can see from most KZbinr reviews. But rest assure, the dry down smell after a few hours is one of the best perfumes out there. And on the bright side it’s very strong and last long so it’s quite savvy than other expensive perfumes

Have you ever been to a funeral home? Because this scent is nothing like that. You’re trying to box in and classify it’s darkness by connecting it to death, but not even real death, a sterile funeral home. Big mistake.

I need to correct you on this one. Orchids do indeed have a smell - in a certain phase of their bloom. It is kind of floral sweet, fruity, woody, musky, slightly stale but very addictive. My mum has several orchids and I always love smelling that scent when they are ready to emit it.

I think that there are a couple of orchids that have a scent, but the overwhelming majority have no scent. I absolutely love this fragrance. I get peach, plum, patchouli, incense, iso E super, and a dark chocolate on my skin when I wear this. I get a good 14-16 hours which I also love because my shifts are 12 hours. Anyway, once again congratulations on the world wide distribution of your product line! Dreams do come true!

You should try Tiziana Terenzi Maremma, it’s Black Orchid with less florals more sweetness and its even more sexy. It’s an Extrait and I enjoy it even more than BO.

Sooo, this one is great but... I layered it with grey vetiver once and it made it more year round wearable for me in Arizona. The reason I tried this is because I was going to a Michael Jackson dance party, I decided to wear TF BO because it was one of his favs. But it was early July so I used GV to lighten it up.

Aaron, is this the edt or edp version? I just bought the eau de toilette and the fragrance evolves beautifully minute after minute on my skin. I cannot stop sniffing the palm of my hand, absolutely love this gem and the Tom Ford line.

I mix this with Tom Ford’s Orchid Soleil. 2 sprays of Black Orchid on one side, 2 of Orchid Soleil on the other. The combo is indescribable. Love it. Aside that, Im glad you like it!

I like all Tom Ford Orchids, each for another reason and in different circumstances. Black Orchid is one of those frags I like from distance on other people. On myself or from a close distance it's too strong for me. But the scent itself is indeed exceptional and most definitely unisex. It goes well with black and sexy outfits. Velvet Orchid on the other hand is lighter and smoother, literally like velvet, also unisex. I think it goes well with elegant purple outfits, on events or even in the office. Orchid Soleil is a naughty Nude type creamy narcotic floral frag that smells like the hot sexy tanned skin of a sunbathing bikini girl at the beach.

Orchids do actually have a wide variety of scents! There is one called a Sherry Baby and it smells very much like chocolate.

Mike 50 cal. Get a sample. You can pick up 1ml. It’s dark. Patchouli and chocolate. It’s doesn’t scream MAN. But it’s dark, sweet and chocolate. For me alpha mans fragrance are tobacco. That’s why I’ve done two and why they sell so much!

You mate are completely wrong 🤣 it was designed for women to smell like male, then audience sait it was way too manly for a women's fragrance besides, black orchid on my skin goes darker and more intense with the dry down the scent didn't get off me even after 2 showers my bedsheets smelled black orchid for a week 😂 but when My sister sprayed it on herself it became lighter and lighter with the dry down didn't last even a day on her skin

Here's my year on year experience with TF Black Orchid.....it a fall winter frag......you must 'wear' this or it will 'wear you'.....its a banger. With my personality, its a woman magnet (far share of gay men too...Im never offended when that happens! lol)......I have pulled some of the finest women out of lounges wearing this frag....but like I said, confidence is key with Black Orchid....otherwise, its a square peg in a round hole! ...its a banger!
