I am not sure about his views on Manipal, where my uncle went for his medical school. I often visited the campus while growing up. But I can vouch for not just his good looks :), but also his wisdom and leadership. I feel fortunate to have worked for/with him at some point in my career. He's a fantastic leader and a role model. I still remember the wisdom he'd share in meetings. I have learned so much from him. What he once said about "hunt like a lion and rest" still resonates with me. From Kiva Systems (acquired by Amazon), Lattice (acquired by Apple), to Pixie (acquired by New Relic), and now Rox-his journey is truly inspiring. Best wishes for the Rox and all the amazing things he does!

So much BQC nostalgia: In 8th grade I was on the Bournvita Quiz Contest myself. Coming on national television in the 90s was a HUGE deal. So imagine my suprise, when 20 years later, I walked into a room with Derek O Brien and the Cadbury team to discuss how to launch BQC on KZbin, in my role at Google! Full circle feeling!

Jamshedji Tata founded Jamshedpur post WW1 when the colonial masters allowed industrialisation in India. Later his son Dorabji took the reins. JRD was head honcho of Tatas but Tata Steel was run by Rusi Modi. 14:48

It’s high time to clarify a bitter truth with employment based visas being denied or RFed in most cases. It’s a fact many don’t address or just ignore. Immigration attorneys in most big and midsized law firms deal with high volume of cases - nearly 100-200 plus a year and they are paid very less legal fee $1000-1500 for a petition. As a result high intake and poor quality happens and ultimately leading to denial. If IT companies or petitioner company (becoz h-1s and most work visas are petitioned by them) pay fair value then they would get fair service. Denials are because of poor representation of a case. Unfortunately companies think immigration services should be cheap and this is the price you pay! Don’t blame uscis all the time. When people cut corners quality drops. Immigration law firms need to raise their prices in order to hire decent attorneys and provide WLB to attorneys if not this is what happens. I have seen many IT millionaires bargaining for such services as though their work should be paid high price. You get what you pay for (most cases).
