On the seventy-third day of ATR, after shooting the kingfisher, we went for a night safari around Nature’s Nest, which is where we were staying.
We focused on finding flying squirrel and Gray Slender Loris. I have never seen either of the two.
Instead, we came across Hump-Nosed Pit Viper, a species of venomous snakes endemic to this place. Many from around the world travel to Goa to shoot this particular snake.
Soon after, we also found a contributing source of Kopi Luwak, the most expensive coffee in the world -- Asian Palm Civet. Kopi Luwak, which is also called civet coffee, is made of partially digested coffee cherries, sourced from the excreta of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). The cherries get fermented as they pass along the intestines of the civet, and are collected from the fecal matter of the civet by the makers of this exotic coffee.
