@onurbole79215 жыл бұрын
@Adrián Zangla I think it can count as strength training. If you can properly barbell curl 75% of your bodyweight for reps you have strong guns. Yeah could just as well do weighted chinups, adding about 50% of your bodyweight but they are not mutually exclusive. Heavy curls do exist.
@ramaswamynarayanan29305 жыл бұрын
@@onurbole7921 I agree with you wholeheartedly. John Davis curled 220. Doug Hepburn curled 260. You dont see 600 pound deadlifters able to that. Nothing against deadlifting, its obviously awesome. But heavy 5 rep curls have their place in training. And if you happen to be a wrestler especially Greco Roman then heavy curls are more important than your presses because you are desperately going to need the arm strength to manhandle and throw your opponents. I came upon this realization the harder way unfortunately.

Dear Coach Rip, I have an ask: Why am I not being able to progress with my Starting Strength training? I have been training for four weeks, and I can't add any weight to the bar anymore. I began doing Starting Strength, but I removed squats and deadlifts (too brutish), and then everything else too. Now, I only do biceps curls and triceps extensions in front of the mirror, in sets of 15 reps (sometimes 30). I only eat 1100 calories per day, in a strict paleo-instagram-vegan gluten-free diet, as I'm really serious that abs are _non-negotiable._ I sleep when it doesn't interfere with my World of Warcraft gaming sessions. So yeah, basically, _I Am Not Doing The Program_ (IANDTP)-I started with the program, but then modified it, so it was not the program anymore. And now I find it impossible to progress. What gives?

Can we also post our questions here or do we have to send them in? Whatever, let me try: What do you think about fasting, Rip (as in, prolonged, 24+ hours fasting?) Do you think it can be used to cut some fat effectively while maintaining muscle? Is it compatible with Starting Strength in any way or does it prevent any form of progression? For example one could eat on training days and fast on rest days.

You could always format an event as a combination convention and seminar. So as to have coaches available in areas you aren't established. Or as a combination seminar. First you coach coaches. Then provide a "field" experience where they assist in running general public seminar. Just shooting from the hip sorry if it sounds dumb.
