Is this a deadlift rep resent? Disregard. I can see that some of these comments are eight years old.

Big Squats = large lower body/ core Big Bench/ Press = large chest, shoulders, triceps Big Deadlift/ Rows/ Cleans = big back (wide & thick), traps, and HAMSTRINGS & GLUTES STRENGTH = SIZE

Hi genuine question, not some random nonsense. You argue in the video that the straight arm position for a deadlift is advantageous because of its ROM reduction. If I remember correctly the blue book argues that we want to pick natural movements through a large range of motion to maximize the muscle mass involved for a training stimulus. This seems a contradiction, can someone help with this logic?

The 65% light day contradicts the Barbell Prescription which is for lifters the age of the caller. The BP book says light days should be 80-95% of the heavy day lift. "Light day work will consist of 2-5 sets of about 3-5 reps at a reduction of anywhere from 5-20% from the heavy day loads for that lift." Sullivan, Jonathon M; Baker, Andy. The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40 (p. 551). The Aasgaard Company. Kindle Edition.

While Ability gets advocated by likes of WWE Brock Lesnar, the dude cannot even escape a flying fishnet in underwater. But Dexterity (control, manipulation and deceit) like The Rock is equally impressive.

Ed Coan wasn't exactly natural after a while. Why should a regular strength trainee compare himself to him? If someone is of his height, it wouldn't be easy bulking up to such functional mass doing it without ... stuff.

The lifter, who is unarguably strong, is leading w/ their back not leg drive. With low hips, utilizing leg drive and once the bar clears the knees you scoop the hips & quads forward the bar moves faster than this way. Just ask EVERY olympic weightlifter.

Rip is an unsung genius when it comes to strength development and the corresponding health benefits. But it requires sticking with the program until you understand how the program interacts with your physiology before you branch off and try and specialize. In this word of “accept everyone’s opinions” SS isn't hip

I’m fat fuckin nerd, always have been and probably always will be, but back in 09 I lost a bunch of weight and got obsessed with going to the gym. I ended up doing a starting strength routine I found (workout A: squats, bench, pull-ups/chinups, workout b: squats, overhead press, dead lifts) and I loved it. Did it religiously for like 4 months, made a bunch of gains and felt great. Then life and all of that shit happened, you know all of the horseshit excuses… but I will say, those 4 months of dedication to that routine stayed with me all of this time: when I stopped working out, when I gained the weight back, when I went from blue collar to corporate, when I went from single to a husband and father… yeah, I’m a fat 40 year old nerd now, but out of everything I’ve ever been called the past 14 years, you one thing no one has ever called me? Weak. Imagine if I had stuck with it.
