I am glad that you are taking cues from Coach Jason Blaha. The everyday uploads is only the start. Now, you must post a minimum of 4 videos a day and each vid having a 10:01 duration. I realize that public speaking is not your forte, but you must build confidence and knowledge so you can do this routine 365 days a year...non-negotiable. Practice speed reading. I can tell that you attended Jason B's deadlift seminar in Houston because you are indeed getting better at teaching proper form. Good luck with your fledgling business ventures.

This isn't as bad as the rant against veganism, but saying that elite coaches just hide behind the genetics of their athletes is both naive and petty. Newsflash: if you train elite athletes, they still have to compete against other elite athletes. And often, correcting errors in elite athletes is much more challenging, because you're fighting years of bad habits. And while it's certainly true that elite athletes have good genetics for their sport, reducing their performance to genetics alone - as though everyone else trains and eats and rests just as optimally - is nonsense, particularly the notion that a genetically gifted athlete can overcome poor programming. Also, isn't the chapter on squat technique in SS something like 180 pages long? Who does complexity appeal to, again?
@adamstenson8143
@adamstenson8143 5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Eeking out every little bit of performance from an elite athlete takes a lot more coaching prowess that getting someone to their first 3 plate squat.

Nonsense. Stupid people look for simple solutions to complex problems. Brexit has taught us that very well as has Trump's solutions to foreign policy, trade and immigration. What IS true is that you can bamboozle a stupid person with complexity. Doesn't mean they like it nor that they will not prefer the simple (but wrong) solution.

Rip does a great job of cutting through the bullshit to focus on the big lifts. He does a good job of coaching them, and starting strength is an excellent book. However he does tend to oversimplify, and frequently gives hand-wavey answers to complex questions. So once you've completed the novice LP I'd recommend checking out 'Barbell Medicine' for more useful intermediate programming and nuanced discussion about barbell training . They also have a free intermediate program called 'the bridge' which has worked well for me.

Tom Brady is hardly an elite athlete. He's has elite qualities for a quarterback. None of them are elite athletic qualities. He has focus, arm talent, great decision making, etc. But he has horrible speed, quickness, jumping, etc. You could probably outrun him.
