The Lovely DONNA SUMMER ! Us 50+ folks are so lucky that we got to hear and see the best era's in music from the 60's-90's. After that... it got weird. My number 1 pick - Peter Brown - "Dance with Me". And if we couldn't revisit this era in particular... especially the trauma that we're all having to endure in this moment in time. Man oh man... I wonder why the critics slaughtered Thank God its' Friday , the movie? I love multi character movies. I found almost everyone in the movie very funny. It was much more entertaining than a lot of big hit movies of the 1970s. Donna's vocal on Once upon a Time distracts from her brillant lyrics. And also I never got why they couldn't include the whole song here? It wasn't a very long song

@@DiscoMatty79, Damn... Good one, yeah her voice I feel did get better with age... That young raspy voice killed my ears sometimes back then 😂. When did you become a fan of hers and what's your favourite record of hers?
@DiscoMatty793 жыл бұрын
@@bigolebot in 1992, I fell in love with Disco. It was when Grunge and Gangsta Rap her transforming the 80's into the 90's. I saw a commercial for Disco Fever. Back when they used to have all those tape and cd commercials nonstop. I like current things, but I always gravitated to Disco. Thank goodness for Rave, it was the closest I could get back then. I was at a flee market when I was 12, and bought her Bad Girls album. I was instantly a fan. My favorite song by hers, as well as favorite song of all times, is I Feel Love. As far as albums, Once Upon a Time. So brilliant and underrated. Should be up there with Dark Side of the Moon. My second believe it or not is Another Place and Time. Every song on there makes me melt. In that cheesy happy 80's way.
@bigolebot3 жыл бұрын
@@DiscoMatty79, Man this is cool, talking to the younger generation of Donna Summer fans. I remember those Rave CDs lol what a throwback. Another Time and Place was her last good album in my opinion so that's not a bad choice even though fans my age group didn't like it... I personally loved it. Even though you weren't there when Donna Summer was killing I throughout from 75 - 84 I'm glad you like her work... We need newer younger fans because talking to older fans can get boring.

5:03 mark - was that Karen Lustgarten in that white dress being dipped in the disco hustle round on the Bandstand studio? It looks like Karen. She was the famous dancing instructor lady of disco who wrote "Disco Dancing" and "Touch Dancing" in that year, and seeing that dip, I think her dance partner led her into a death drop extended, which is what Karen calls "hot flashes" - also known as trick steps, dips, drops, lifts in disco partner dance.
