Thanks for sharing your story. Donna was my aunt. I would travel across country to visit her when my mom was studying for her Masters and subsequent Doctorate degrees, it was an amazing time. I wasn’t born in 1980 but a few years after, and I know the EXACT, She was a great person and she was beside me BEFORE my birth, until her passing. This particular house is where, I had my college graduation party. Great memories. Kudos to you…Cheers!

Many years ago, I ran into Ms. Summer's at a grocery store in Connecticut. I stood right next to her at the produce department. We looked at each other and I noticed her immediately! She smiled and put her finger to her lips 🤫, and I obliged with a nod/wink. Not a word was said, but I understood and respected that she wanted her privacy. She was one beautiful, gifted, and classy woman!

Would have been nice if her husband and their daughters (2) and the daughter by her first husband, wanted to preserve this beautiful mansion. Per article in Google, The daughters helped select which of Summer's prized possessions to sell at auction through Christie's. A family insider says that the girls began arguing shortly before Summer passed away. “Mimi thinks she should get the most because she is first born, but Brooklyn made it clear that she and her sister Amanda should get more,” the family friend told reporters. Most of the singer's fortunate was left to Sudano.

I was a teenager in the 70's and I fell in love with Donna Summer! She has been my song Goddess ever since. I miss her greatly. THANK YOU for doing this video!!! You don't know how much Donna's fans will appreciate this. It is sick and depraved that one of her homes is to be demolished for greed and avarice. It should be kept as a keepsake and taken care of so it never deteriorates. But the whole world is nothing but evil and greed. It's definatley NOT the same world Donna and I grew up in, for sure. That room with the plain wood floor and the dark walls was probably her studio, and it was setup with all her music machines and instruments. Those little "off" rooms that are strange are sitting rooms. Kind of like, where you go to sit and not be bothered...maybe read a book or draw or paint, or just sit there and think about stuff. That master closet is bigger than my apartment!! I cannot fathom having so much money that you need a closet THAT big for your own personal department store!!! Thats beyond anything comprehensive!!! Upstairs, looks like they started builiding in the attic for extra space. This house is a MAZE!!! I'd get lost in it. That shower by the steam room was the rinse shower. You go rinse yourself off after steaming, so you don't smell like stanky sweat. It's not meant to be a SHOWER shower. You missed a room.

It's rare for such a big house to be so welcoming. My favorite rooms were the kitchen (what's not to like?), and the closet/dressing room. I'm thinking that all of the strange rooms/spaces on the second floor were kid's bedrooms and play rooms, though I have a hard time imagining why they would design them like that. The basement was strange. I fully expected to see a home theatre and a pool room (the kind of pool you play on a pool table), but the rooms are so generic it's hard to say. Donna Summer was such a massive talent - she was a major part of my collige days - disco wouldn't have been disco without Donna. You should have had more time with us Donna. Thanks for the music. Thank you so much for showing this beautiful home once owned by Donna Summers!! As a kid growing up in the 70's and 80's I was a true disco king and a big fan of Donna's. I think you said she was not the last person to live there. If so I would have been scaping up those stone left in the drawers and also some of her laungerie and that bottle of whiskey!! I am sure all the amazing mantles and crystal pieces will be salvaged. I am very surprised there was no pool especially since it had a sauna. I do think one of the down stairs room would have been a formal music room with a grand piano and another would be a trophy room to display and the awards and such she was awarded during her career. Possibly the "blue room" could have been her master bedroom and the other room was her private sitting room!!! Is this home in Tennessee?? I know she is buried in Tennessee!!! Thanks again for an awesome tour!!

Donna moved to this area because she enjoyed the kindness of the local people and the respect of community when she once visited. Fun fact - in that garage, she rekindled her hobby of painting. It’s generally called a ‘family room’ right off of the kitchen in a house that size and then you generally have a formal living room and dining room in the front when you come in or sometimes a study is in the front too. The room with the sconces on the wall was probably an office.

So just because "Donna Summer" was the owner, that's supposed to make a difference on whether it's torn down or not? Grow up! Just because someone works in the entertainment industry, that doesn't make them any more special than anyone else. They are all just normal people at the end of the day... nothing more!
@donnainsc38088 ай бұрын
@@Mingkai-cw6kh That is not what I meant or intended to mean. As in marketing, a popular, widely-known celebrity who's name is known worldwide, it's common to assume something they once owned would be grabbed up immediately because of the name associated with it, name-branding. Some people dream of a life of glamour or stardom, but having worked behind the scenes in film & TV for over a decade, there's nothing glamorous or special about it.

Oh and to add after watching further, the opposite side of the gigantic closet and master bedroom on the 2nd floor, the first room you came into was probably her glam room where she had hair and makeup help her get ready for events. Donna was an icon and very glamorous so she would have big spaces for her clothing dating back to the 1970s, costumes with her everyday clothes. And I know what all the spaces in the dressing room are for. Plus the unfinished back area looks like a planned recording studio that just didn't happen. I agree, it's too bad it's being demoed instead of restored and lived in. It's so beautiful.

McArthur's Park is melting in the dark. In the song "MacArthur Park", the phrase "the cake is melting in the rain" is a metaphor for the end of a love affair. The song's writer, Jimmy Webb, has said that the song is symbolic and that everything in it is based on things he actually saw in MacArthur Park, a real park in Los Angeles. Google - macarthur park is melting in the dark meaning, This is an appropriate song for the condition and fate of this house.. The song was prophetic. Weird huh.
