I met Ab-Soul when he came to Toronto many years ago. I'll never forget the energy he emitted, when we dapped each other I felt a supernatural feeling of peace and calm fall over me. He is a prime example that those who know the most are often the most broken. The truth seekers of the world always hold the pain of the world on their shoulders and often have absolutely no one to hold their pain or validate their knowledge. I hope soul continues his healing journey, clearly he's here for a purpose beyond himself.

I love Ab-Soul so much, man. Missed having him on the scene. Such a beautiful soul. I survived an attempt almost three years ago now, I was in a coma for three days (when they expected me to be comatose for two weeks), and I'm thankful that I'm still here to see this new chapter of Soul's life. I had to relearn how to walk and eat and speak. And I'm thankful that someone so important can be a witness to so much struggle and pain, and still be such a light for the world. So so thankful. God Bless Ab-Soul. God Is Good. Jesus Is King.

@Nefarious_Bread
@Nefarious_Bread Жыл бұрын
@@bobmax2775 Sometime around 13:00. I disagree with his take on that though. He says that vaping causes anxiety and depression. But in reality, people who suffer from these things tend to do them. So vaping isn't causing depression or anxiety. It's that people who are depressed or have anxiety problems tend to vape or smoke. I'm speaking of adults of course, not children.

I Had To Stop This Video Around The 26:00 Mark. Quick Story: I Always Been A Huge Ab-Soul Fan, Even Got All My Homies On His Music. Somewhere In August 2020 I Sat At The Golden Gate Bridge For About 6 Days. Found A Close Enough Park & Every Night I’ll Walk To Post 87. (Each Post Has A Number) I Kept Playing The Song “A Rebellion” By Ab-Soul. Control System Still My Favorite. The Last Day I Was On The Bridge I Was Ready To Leave Everything And Everyone. I Stood Up And Took A Deep Breath And As I Exhaled, I Was Violently Pulled Down By Someone Saving Me. Til This Day I Don’t Go Anywhere Near That Bridge. I remember reading Malcolm X autobiography and then I watched the movie with Denzel. Both these things completely changed my mind and how I felt about the world around me. I was angry. It still plays a lingering role In who I am. But we should all remember that Malcolm X died young without the chance to just really GROW from the consciousness he had just awoke too. There’s a huge difference between being 25 with thoughts and 30. Any African American male can attest to that. Shit I’m 34 going on 35 and I feel different even now. Give yourself a chance to grow young men. Be strong, be courageous, and talk to someone when you need too.

I’ve know Ab soul since he was 4 years old. My grandma owned the children clothing store next door to his family record business. I use to meet all the rappers when they would show up for meet and greets. Ab would just be playing on the walkway in front of the store and I use to always keep an eye on him so nothing would happen to him. Anybody who remembers my clothing store “HI KIDS” tap in with me Carson ca stand up! 🙌🏽💪🏽💪🏽💯💯

That point on the vaping and vapes is some REAL SHIT. I've seen it literally change people.. folks need to put those down. It makes sense why there's so much funding going into those shops being put up. They just closed down a cafe to put one up on my street. Ab is talking about real human things here in this sit down, beautiful and vulnerable. I'm glad he's here with us. To jump that.. and be here with us.. touched. Especially after how many people I've lost within the last two years. Let's love each other more.

I've always said this since I discovered Ab-Soul 10 years ago. He is a very humble, divine, and not knowing much about him at that time, I knew he was a beautiful person just based on his appearance and how he carried himself. That's now coming to light in all of these interviews

Great interview. Mental health is heavy on this 1. Deep introspective perspective. Genuine & powerful conversation. I learned a lot. I vape too... and.. I "think" I'm "fine" emotionally & mentally... but I really should unpack some things with a "stranger". It's just hard to find someone you can vibe effortlessly with... &... understands black men... I gotta do better & I will do better... Thank You Ab-Soul, Herb... (and all of the names I know you go by). I've been a deeply invested fan since long-term mentality 1... say wassup, Kendrick Lamar ep... The Love Religion (RIP Alori Joh) etc. Thank You CTG, you're the trailblazer for mental health.

I don't know... if he sees a therapist because he felt unlike himself, and realized the nicotine was effing his head up bad... for a cerebral guy who ingested so many different and sometimes radical ideologies and perspectives, any real depression would have been had GLARING symptoms. When he survived his diagnosis as a kid .... and got the baddest girl in HS after being teased... and developed a brotherhood that hasn't faltered ... wrote through his grief after her passing... They was smoking weed like nobody's business but they were building better lives for themselves without selling their souls. I think he has to guard his temple from any poisons aimed to destroy his mind. But I really don't see the tell tale signs of a person denying their struggle with depression. These are only our opinions at the end of the day. We agree in our hope for the growth of his overall wellbeing.

ab-soul has some of the best lyrics in the game. i think he just needs someone to force him to rap on dope beats. i think hes suffering from the nas disease.
