I saw 3000 in a Whole Foods in Atlanta. He was signing a kid’s sweatshirt when I walked into the isle. I already knew how he felt about being in public. He looked at me… and I nodded and didn’t say a word. The look of relief on his face as he walked away was 100% worth not getting a selfie.

Andre has rap lyrics available just can't put it into words. His expression is a happy medium. Hence the flute. Just like what Nas said about how he preconceived what others would think about what he says rather than just try. Could it be lack of words or lazy efforts.😢

He's really like someone who has gotten to a point in his life where he's at peace with the world. His motivations aren't commercially driven, nor does he feel the pressure to keep doing things to desperately stay culturally relevant. He's making art on his own terms and does so the for the sheer joy of it, and sharing that joy with others. He is levitating with the love for creation in his heart and a smile on his face, and I nothing but my deepest respect for him. My dude has found himself.

I have definitely seen Andre 3k in the most random spots in Philly for a stretch, with his flute. This was within the last 3yrs. People would walk by, double take and immediately hop on their phones to call others to let friends know. Small crowds would gather around, but in Philly, strangers respect space so no one would invade his space without being mindful. One time I seen him and he rocked out with a vocalist who had been walking by, a complete stranger who started freestylin over his flute. She was beautiful, had an amazing voice, and they vibed for about 10 mins. Seen him another time just out reading a book in a downtown park. Not at all trying to bring attention to himself, and again Philly did not bother him. He is forever mysterious, unassuming, and definitely an authentic creative

Most of them Even if they dream of that kind of freedom but their ego wouldn't allow them because they'd have to give up the glamour,need for praise and validation and fame ,most cant

What’s interesting is that seeing 3 Stacks out in the Alley playing his flute is actually not that wild given the history and trajectory of his career. He is a true artist. People forget how ahead of their time Outkast and Andre 3000 were. They did things artistically that set the bar really high. Many people have tried even today but will never be able to replicate it. We support you Andre, if you decide at age 60 to put down the flute and pic up the mic I’ll be the first in line to support ✌🏾

I love luxury items and outings like the next person, but in honesty, true gratification and joy comes, when you are in the peace and quiet by yourself; many times, with nothing but a great scenery, driving in your car, or in the quiet of appreciating your life and the blessings bestowed upon you... Yeah, it’s wild seeing comments here thinking this interview comes across as “sad” or “confusing.” Dude has reached that place in life where one has a really healthy sense of themselves and what works for them to keep learning and living and staying mentally grounded. He knows who he is and what it takes to grow as an emotionally healthy person. I also don’t think many people really understand how much of an intense headfuck fame would be, being in the public eye to that of extent. Andre seems like a very grounded and secure individual, and to find that when millions of people know who you are is extremely impressive and encouraging.
@TheDreamingJune
@TheDreamingJune Жыл бұрын
@@PaulPawlPall I totally agree. It's weird seeing anyone call this interview sad when if anything it had me smiling through most of it. Andre seems to be at a more contented place in his life where he doesn't desire to make music for the sake of having "hits" or being cool. He just wants to express himself artistically with as much authenticity as he can. That to me is a sign of a person who knows himself and has integrity.

I really appreciate him as a person. Not just an excellent artist, but just as a person. Just existing and exploring. So dope.

It's really weird but so wholesome that Andre is one of the few rappers that really have something inspiring and spiritual in them, kinda like a philosopher or a poet..More rappers are looking into this more on the surface and they don´t want or don´t care to feel,create or explore something deeper..Kendrick and Andre are some of the few that I feel can understand and communicate something deeper and more hearthitting through not only their music but through their talks and discussions.

When he talks about the social anxiety never going away, I felt that. Even after years of therapy to manage my social anxiety and awkwardness I can attest the different variations of it manifesting at different times. There have been times where I have gone long stretches where I feel confident in social situations, and then there are times where it seems like I have forgotten all those skills. Its a persistent deficiency that is only remedied temporarily at best.

I totally get your statement, it's seen some very socially awkward people in society. I notice it every day. SOME people just don't mesh well in certain environments. People come off weird to me.

Andre 3000’s voice sounds so incredibly strong, clear, and confident. That alone brought me mega joy! And then that flute 🤩! What an appropriate instrument for an artist with that level of pied piper potential. Ain’t nothing humble or mumble about this nor should it be. A solid inspiration. Also a Gardener , who has dropped all kinds of fruitful seeds that have grown… a lot. Hope the presence of the gardener refreshes the original picture for the plot

The album was amazing. It may not be what a lot of people expected, but it’s probably what a lot of people needed.
