As crazy as some conservatives might be let's be real. Most institutions of power are still very left and I don't see any universities full with conservatives openly calling to kill certain people. Destiny often says how the the right is way crazier and that might be true for conspiracies but in actual reality I mean people on the ground the only crazies I see in the institutions are left not right. I mean just let that sink in: After the Holocaust we have again people who are openly calling to gas the jews and they aren't coming from the extreme right. Just madness.

Yes Hancock looked very bad in his debate with Dibble. But only because Flint Dibble misrepresented the data. Not only made he accusations of racism (which is nonsense Hancock is a huge supporter of tribal culture) he also claimed that we had shipwrecks from when we started seafaring (we don't). The oldest shipwreck is from 2200 BC. But we know that humans first crossed oceans to Australia approx. 65.000 years ago. Yet there is not a single piece of physical evidence of that. Also Flint is one of the most woke guy on Twitter constantly blocking people for merely disagreeing with him. Really disappointed Destiny.

@@skullkrusher4418 Yeah I feel like Chris Williamson definitely started out more redpill, and then he regularly enjoys convos with more conspiracy brained people like Eric Weinstein, who many intelligent/smart people are wary of; but then Destiny has EXTREME dislike for, and then he (Destiny) sort of broadens that entire vibe to anyone they overlap with. Or he just absorbs the most extreme/viral clips from Chris which represent a small sliver of his views? Not sure. Chris regularly has convos with fairly standard smart people. He's a good platformer--though I suppose he does have this thing of giving the nod to anyone he has on, or basically just asking them about their ideas without much pushback. Anyway Alex and he have some great conversations about strict philosophy, so Destiny's critiques make it feel like he just absorbs headlines or thumbnails and nothing else. On the other hand, I do cringe at the comments whenever Destiny is on Chris Will or Jordan Peterson or whatever. Peterson is a better example. I feel like I have this view of Peterson's community where we overlap on a few things, diverge on a few things, and everyone is generally interested in learning. Everyone has their distinct language game and area of concern, everyone is reacting to understandable impulses . . . . we can hopefully bridge some divides. Then suddenly someone they disagree with will come on, and they'll seem like a totally different population of humans, rabid, frothing at the bit, completely tribal. So maybe Destiny's right about who Chris Will hangs out with? Anyway regardless, it was a weird comment about Alex but he probably realized by now

@John-kx7ke22 күн бұрын
I haven't personally seen any dislike towards Destiny from Alex O'Connor's community (then again I haven't been looking), but if there is I would imagine they're coming from the same place the Decoding the Guru audience's distaste is coming from rather than the manosphere. I don't know where Destiny's getting it's from the manosphere either. If you squint, maybe you can make an argument that between his appearances on Chris Williamson's show and Unseen where he's somewhat amenable to "religion has its uses" and steering away from taking a side on US politics he could have ingratiated himself with a trad-con audience, but it feels like quite a stretch and those people would have to kind of willfully ignore the aspects Alex O'Connor disagrees with them on. But maybe it's possible. Then again, I can clearly see what he's talking about with regards to Chris Williamson and Tom Bilyeu (although I follow him to a lesser extent). Although trad-con may be a slightly better descriptor than manosphere (still maybe not perfect though). So if he's seeing it sprouting in Alex's community maybe Destiny has a trained eye for it that I don't.

But he is especially stupid because he brings up the Jordan Peterson debate where he brings up the knowledge problem and five seconds late ignores the entire basis of that argument saying you can predict market well, the whole knowledge problem explains why that was a myth and an illusion of statistics. It’s beyond stupid and then he wonder why he gets push back. It’s clear he doesn’t know the subjects he is talking about.

I think Destiny is still generally right even if he is not 100% right. Destiny, for example, will go on huge multi-month crusades against his own side to call out far-lefties, but when has a conservative ever done that? The most you ever get is a few off-hand remarks. They acknowledge the far-right exists but won't actually actively fight against them. If you ask them about it, you might get something like "Yeah the KKK still exists and they are evil, but the far left put a woman in the new Star Wars so that's why I'm voting for Trump"

Then when They had Trump on the right-wingers came back praising them. If you ask me i think the difference between the left-wing and right-wing fans is that the left tend to all stay in their little pods online while the right are more disbursed. Mostly agree with what they're saying, but I disagree with Destiny's tactic of "If the right wing won't admit to this, then I won't either!" Where does that leave us? If they don't care about their credibility, then we don't have to care about ours? There are always people like Candace Owens that are dishonest and can't be taken seriously, but if you're on Pier's Morgan's show, you're talking to an audience. You don't want to look as unhinged as her. And there actually IS a problem on the left when it comes to things like trans in sports, or certain books in schools, or drag queen story hour. These issues ARE incredibly minor compared to what Republicans do, BUT, this is the exact culture war stuff that they latch on to. Despite issues like this being incomparable to Jan. 6th, it is what they'll talk about. And when some crazy lefty says there is no difference between men and women in sports, or think that a person being against drag queens reading to kids is weird...how often does a moderate lefty call them out? Ana got piled on for criticizing the term "birthing person". So when no one on the left calls these things out, it is very easy for the right wing to say these are the left wing positions.
@EbonyPope21 күн бұрын
Also to say that they are creating a false narrative of equivalence of the left and right extremists is just wrong. Destiny wants to portay the right as even more dangerous but it's not right leaning people shouting to end the existence and the people of Israel. And they don't even face any consequences for it. Imagine conservatives running around campus and yelling to end all t-people. The press woud go mental. Although Destiny doesn't like communism I think he falls prey to that old impression that it is less evil that the other right extreme. It isn't. But it's reputation still is. I can wear my hammer and sickle T-shirt anytime. But the other symbol I can't name here? No way. Yet the numbers are even worse for communism. That isn't to say we should take it easy on people on the extreme right. All I'm saying they truly are equal even in Destiny in his bubble might think otherwise. I mean the universities are the reflection of the mainstream. And that it is possible to threaten jews that way again is not less disturbing what people like Tate do. Concerning the problems of the left I see it the same way. T-people in women sports seems like a minor thing but we are talking about the fabric of reality here. It looks innocent enough but if people learn not to question obvious false trends that is a destruction of the social fabric. It's only innocent superficially speaking. And no it's not just these superficially innocent issues. I repeat: We have lefties among us not held accountable for wanting to exterminate the state of Israel. That's just crazy and in no way less problematic.

A good example would be the following: When did your mom ever accept the excuse that you are entitled to behave horribly because the other kids do it too? Exactly. Never. Because we know that our values should not depend on some weirdos that have horrible morals. Even is Destiny was right about everything how does this justify to make fun of a father who died at the Trump Rally? The joke itself was actually pretty funny but way too early. He was still lying there when he made the tweets. Destiny is the defintion of someone who is losing his moral compass because he realized his debates don't change anybodies mind. That's exactly that it leads to. The problem is when you engage in the exact same things you accuse others of I'll stop listening. You are not in any way different if you think behaving the same way will grant you sympathy. It won't. I mean blacks could have slain their white masters after slavery was over. But they didn't. Why? Because it would have plunged us into chaos. The saying and eye for an eye makes to world go blind is true. And Destiny is engaging in the exact same tactics. I don't know about you but I have never seen anyone change his mind because you called him an idiot to his face (like Destiny advocates for). But I think that is also not what he is in for. As I said I think he is too frustrated that he now changed tactics and is more about ridicule than actually changing anyone's mind. That will drive clicks and engagement but I fear it will just contribute to the divide.

The right wingers Destiny is talking about (maga folks) hate Ben Shapiro and the Daily Wire, and the left wingers think they are all the same, so it really just doesn’t matter to Destiny.
