Abakaliki city is where the Enugu Road, the Afikpo Road, and the Ogoja Road meet. The presence of a federal hospital in Abakaliki is another factor that has significantly helped the city's and the state's ability to provide public healthcare at an affordable cost. In addition, significant improvements have been made to the urban core's infrastructure, including the construction of new roads, shopping malls, and marketplaces, as well as fly-over bridges at strategic places such as the Presco junction and Spera-in-Deo intersections, amongst other things.
