This is the fourth instructional video about Abandon All Artichokes that I have watched, and yours is the first to fully explain how to manage the personal deck to keep having cards to draw. You make gameplay crystal clear. Thanks!

Corn card is confusing. Direction states "Play this card with an Artichoke." But playing means following the directions stated on the card. Circular logic. How does this pass the editing phase? Does 'Play this card' mean compost it? Put it in your discard pile? Who knows!

I see what you mean! I think in this case, the more accurate card text might have been, "Play an artichoke with this card... etc etc" Then you could just follow the normal rules for artichokes and playing cards: - "You cannot play an Artichoke card unless another card instructs you to do so." - "To play a card, place it in front of you and resolve its actions. Once the card has been resolved, place it face-up on top of your Personal Discard Pile (next to your Deck) before playing your next card." In any case, I believe the intended use of the card is: Place both the corn and an artichoke from your hand in front of you. Carry out the rest of the corn rules text. Discard both the corn and the artichoke. Thanks for watching, and for the interesting syntax thought exercise! 😊 -Andy

I have a question. If your personal deck falls below 5 cards, but none of them are artichokes, do you win?
@BoardGameBarrister3 жыл бұрын
Excellent question - you do indeed win when you replenish your hand at the end of your turn! From the rulebook: "If both your Deck and Discard Pile run out, you may end up with fewer than 5 cards in your hand." And, "When you refill your hand at the end of your turn, if none of the cards are Artichokes, you immediately win the game!"
