Great find. Interesting place. Some rooms almost untouched, as if they had just left a little ago for a walk and never came back, other rooms like they were bundling things before leaving .. On top of that, power still on ... With all the water decay, this is not a fire danger, it is a fire waiting to happen. Wonder if the neighbours know they will have a fire next door ...

There where only 3 residents of this home in its last days. The owner passed away in his 70s and I believe 1 of the remaining 2 residents went to prison. The home is on the states historic registry but sadly is to far gone to be saved.
@carolweaver32696 ай бұрын
That would explain it and out of anger and upset and not being able to afford it, the last one had to leave and just took off and had no place to go but knew they had to leave with just clothes on their back, perhaps? They were disgusted and upset with it all? This could have happened also, as you have explained what you feel did happen to the other two of the three that owned it in the end.

The family who lived there were from the 1970’s disco era. The photo you showed with the mom and dad in the black and white outfits, the father in photo has puffy sleeves to his shirt, that alone clearly demonstrated time frame. The thick gold chain in other photo also provided the young lady was from late 80’s.

If they couldn’t afford the house, the bank took it and forced them out without taking anything with them.
@carolweaver32696 ай бұрын
They may have lost the home and time ran out for them to leave, and they had not as of yet, and then 'forced to leave' and' doors locked on them' and not able to get back in again? It seems unfair, but can happen by those in authority. You have so long to leave if you are not able to pay or keep it up, and it is seen as a hindrance to area etc. (Now it is worse yet, but no one bothers to handle it) But someone must own it as the electric is on and it is paid by someone? Too many lights on and it would show up on the village main office where they check the electric for people in there homes, and they do. In our area the village people have ways to watch any extra water leaking in people's homes and they will come and tell you and you must check your sinks and toiletes etc. This is NYS. It must be fixed to save money, even if you are the private owner and are paying the bills. So, they want to be sure the family knows it is leaking. But they must get it fixed, or they keep telling them. So would be careful of things like that, as evidently it is fine now and all is well, and thank you for giving us ths lovely video and showing this mansion! But just want you to be careful as somehow , someone is paying for the electric? Otherwise, the other house owners are doing it, but that may not make as much sense as one person must have their name on house, but they are not taking care of it either! They just want it to look : 'Lived in at night perhaps ,especially but could be day and night" they may try to do it, so no one will come in. This had been a very lovely masnion and am sure families lived may years her nd enjoyed it and yet maybe could not keep it up as they should have? It can happen dn especially is suppose a minister. If it were owned by his church , members would have needed to pay to keep it up, as they really would have owend it, or the mother church you may call it? But evidently it was owned by the pastor, himself and family? Maybe they fell on hard times? I do not know of course, just guessing. Lots of money to pay for maybe nothing, but some would do it I guess, as there is many nice items and probably antique as well in there? Why it is not even sold or something else done, I have no idea. The home could be auctioned off in order to have someone fix it back up perhaps i they hve money to hve it fixed aain properly and If it can be done over again? Not sure ,but you see it better , and undertand it more than I wouled , in that way, am sure.

When you showed microwave, your first thought should have been, who’s still paying electric bill and is someone living there? Mmm something is off, You has lights on in bedroom and microwave. Mmm you were possibly invading someone’s living quarters. Someone still lives there. No way you still have electric.
@carolweaver32696 ай бұрын
Do not think they live there , but it cold be someone that has no place and they are like a Hobo and jsut camping out? But not safe really to live in, so it seems? It is a wonder they have not condemned it yet. It still has much to offer dn thgins that could be sold, and yet no one seems to care even those who might til be paying electric bills. They have just let it go to and do not know what is wrong with any of them to pay for electric and not able to try to take care of even things that they could sell? Someone would adore some of the items. I would give most anything for the Last Supper picture in the beautiful frame! Except am sure it would be expensive though? That is very sad indeed!
