Here is the first video of my attempt to revive this old 1969 Ford F100 we found. Watch as I walk through the diagnosis of missing parts and reassembly of the motor in this old truck.
Let's see if we can get this thing back on the road soon! Stay tuned for more videos and thanks for watching!

As someone who has owned close to 100 of the 67-72 Ford trucks most of which were junkyard rescues I must say you did an excellent job getting the old girl up and going again. That 360 will last a lifetime if you beat the hell out of it and probably 2 lifetimes if you take care of it properly. Dual exhaust and a factory 4 barrel carb and intake will really wake it up.

you get used to them down here in the south. after a while it is actually spooky to not hear them when you're in the woods. After all any forested area that does not have some noise is an indication that something is making the wild life cower in silence, and if wasn't you up to that point, its something else. I live not even 15 minutes from a small city, and only an hour from A major urban area, but i have seen feral hogs, coyotes and even a very large cat or two in this area.

@ELOfanatic 5 жыл бұрын
At 13:30 you state that you should see the spark from the distributor going thru the spark plug. Such is not the case. You had the plug hooked to the coil instead. What you should have gotten was a steady, uninterrupted spark. The distributor was receiving no power whatsoever. If you had the distributor hooked up, you would have seen a spark every time the rotor hit that plug, assuming you had spark in the first place.
@330_garage3
@330_garage3 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I should have been a little more clear there. I was only checking the functionality of the points and condenser at that point to see if they were triggering the coil. The coil firing the plug was the pass / fair criteria for that test.

Word of caution NEVER stand over or in line of a fan when racing an unknown engine. My neighbor did and he lost most of an ear and was knocked uncontious when a blade from an old six cylinder engine from a 1952 Chevy truck came loose and struck him in the head. A few more inches and he would have been killed so don't worry about some old dead critters worry about yourself. Otherwise good video.

First vehicle I ever owned was a 74 F100 with a 240 i6. Next to no horsepower, but enough torque to take you up the side of a cliff. Had a busted motor mount, which would allow the engine to twist and the clutch linkage to fall out the bottom of the truck, if you let out on the clutch too hard. Took me forever to notice the busted mount. I spent a lot of time chasing clutch parts down the road. haha.

Great Video! You did a great job explaining everything you did to get this jewel running again. I had a 69' just like it except it was blue and white. We called her "blue bomber." Steering issues plagued the vehicle and I basically keep the junk yards in business. I have to admit looking back on keeping her running was very fun. Looks like you are having good times as well.
