Abandoned 2 Door Chevy Project sent to the yard. 1970 Impala Sport Coupe Junkyard Find

Once again I run across another abandoned project in the junkyard. This time it's a 197p Chevy Impala Sport Coupe in a Florida yard. It had been in the yard for some months now and now was missing the entire front clip as well as the drivetrain. This was a V8 car, most likely being a small block. There were actually two different Coupes, one being a Custom Coupe and this being a Sport Coupe. The Custom Coupe got the disk brakes standard. One got a more fastback style roof where as the other got a more concave rear window area of the roof. This one was also missing most of the interior. The body didn't seem too rusty but the frame had some serious issues. It's days in the road are over and soon will be meeting the crusher.

Considering how rusted the frame is, I'm wondering if there's any rust hiding in the body. It's hard to tell, but the A pillar might be starting to rot. Wow, a 1970 Impala is a cool car, especially with the angled antennas on the back! Wonder if it was given up due to the frame rot, a lot of money was already poured into it. Hey, it doesn't hurt to have spare glass & decklid! If it fits your Poncho, go for it!

Whoa Nelley, 1970 and gotta go. We got the tag, we can brag: ST70 for 1970 model year, 16437 for Impala V8 two door sport coupe, OS for Oshawa, Ontario Canada assembly, 820 for Blue interior trim, 25 25 for Astro Blue Turquoise upper and lower exterior paint, 04B for the second week of April 1970 production and M38 for THM350 three speed automatic transmission. We got the VIN, we win: 1 for Chevrolet, 64 for Impala V8, 37 for two door sport coupe, 0 for 1970 model year, 1 for Oshawa, Ontario Canada assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Oshawa plant opened in 1953, closed for a time in 2019 and then restarted in 2021 with a Chevrolet Silverado being the first vehicle produced with the "restarted" plant. Whoa Nelley, "oooh, oooh Jackie Blue" (Ozark Mountain Daredevils/1974) and it's over for you. An Impala is a deer and the end is near. Made where they often say "Eh?", and this one is going away. That's it, time to quit. Rust on the frame is totally insane. Two door and soon to be no more. Going to be flat and that's that. In rust we do not trust. Chevy looking kind of heavy. B body looking very shoddy. Going to get squished and the bowtie faithful, many here, Benny and yes, the Google Man are going to be pissed.

I like a 70 impala.its bigger but sporty and no ss models which is a shame.its probably salvageable.
