As a historian I was absolutely heartbroken when I saw the graffitti in the interior... Let's value and take care of your historical heritage! Things such as buildings, objects and clothing cathegorize as material history and are very important to keep our field alive with sources to research! If you know of a similar situation in your area, try speaking to the town hall authorities or any history institution around. Museums can also take interest to help reform the beautiful fragments of our past. Keep history alive! Thank you for the video

You are a strange historian if you didn't find some things to be odd about this "Victorian" house.
@BabyBat144 жыл бұрын
@@wilwixchu According to the op, the mansion was built around 1810, technically it would be a regency mansion but I honestly find just petty to be "uhhmm that's not victorian, it's actually regency". Being a historian is also understanding the colective imaginary regardind the XIX century, and since most of it was under queen Victoria's ruling, we tend to label it entirely as victorian, often for pure conventionality. Also because the regency period has a lot in common with the victorian period etc. Regarding to the structure of the home, I don't research architecture, so my knowledge on that department is not great. I know much more about victorian garments than victorian homes lol.
@BabyBat144 жыл бұрын
So this comment has been getting some attention. I just wanted to say that, on the other hand, it is quite ironic how this symbol of burgeouis power has probably become a place for squatting for working class and poor individuals. If people have no regard for historical heritage it's because: a) We have failed as a society in which people have to squat to have a right to shelter b) Our entire educational system has failed us, because instead of teaching bs traditional positivist history, they should be teaching about things that actually matter such as the concept of historical heritage.

To all people who are scared of the blood marks on the walls and ground. As some people mentioned before: Real blood would have turned more of a brownish color. Also there was a bucket of red paint in the beginning. Some people think it's funny to do certain stuff like blood prints into lost places. It's quite common actually. Sometimes they even copy ritual scenes or stuff like that. So don't worry. It's not a real crime scene and this dude is totally fine by not freaking out about the blood.

A lot of explorers actually do look properly at stuff. This guy rushed through this house so fast it was ridiculous! I'm amazed this video got so many views but if this is how he does all his explores then I'm not surprised his channel is so small. The best explorers are The Proper People (by far my favourite, they are always very thorough and have loads of info on the places and stuff inside) , Dark Explorations (even tho he gets some of his info wrong, he is still thorough with his explores and presents them well), This is Dan Bell (he only occasionally does explores but he does them well and his channel as a whole is awesome), Bright Sun Films and RnK All day are both good too; plus Bros of Decay (they are awesome and because they are based in EU they have unique explores) and Brennan Evangelista's channel which I can't remember the name of but he is often on Dan Bell's channel and I'm sure that his channel is linked in the description. Exploring with Josh is very popular but I can't stand the way he does his videos, he's not good with researching the places he goes to and will just give info that hes heard from other people which is often complete rubbish or only partly true. He also tends to talks too much about stuff that's not relevant during his explores, it distracts from the explore. But he is popular with the youngsters so if you're one of those you might enjoy him.

Like...if I had the opportunity and finances to buy and renovate this house, I would be torn on keeping and restoring the furniture. Would having a priest or whoever cleanse and bless everything be enough to guarantee nobody is gonna experience a horror movie come to life? Remember, the house was originally made and fully built around 1810. families could have moved into this old house in-between 1810 and 1960s or 1980s, so that is why it has newer furniture and other new and modern things inside, just like your chandelier.
