On the corner of a dead end street somewhere in Tennessee sits this beautiful 1990 Abandoned Mansion on over 20 acres of land that will soon be replaced with dozens of townhomes. One thing that always has my mind puzzled is why these big developers push families out of their dream homes just for the sake of them getting rich? This 6600 square foot home will never be enjoyed ever again. And sadly that is the fate of many homes just like this all over America.
Today I’m taking you to a beautiful abandoned $3.6 million dollar mansion that was last owned by a car business mogul. The man came to the states from Toronto Canada where he wanted to pursue is passion for cars. He started buying vehicles to rent them out and start his own car rental company which ended up being a great success for him. When he decided to move to Tennessee he met his beloved wife and started a family together. In the 1990s he had made up his mind on a 20 plus acre plot of land to build his dream home. He and his family spent many years here until his children moved out. But unfortunately as he grew older he developed Alzheimer’s disease and ultimately that caused him to pass away. The house was then bought by a developer who has plans of tearing it down for townhouses. So join me today and let’s see what’s left.

Yeah they might not have been able to afford it. But if there was more than one heir they probably couldn't just sit on it. They'd have to sell it and divide it up.and it's not like regular people can go in and outbid a big developer.

Problem with parents is often they think they gonna build massive home and have hole family under one roof but truth is many brothers and sisters do not like to live with there family and those parents never think about his inheritance divided among his family and u end up with 2-3 or more members fighting over it and splitting home up 3 or more ways by co living in it not realistic thing considering there kids have there own life and family else where by now and many times family is not on friendly terms so selling it out for most money is only way to go for everyone to be happy ...

I have to add... most of these places, the family walks away and leave all their personal belongings. I'll never understand why so many leave all family photos, trophies, even college degrees. It's so nice to think that someone cared enough about this man, family, to take the personal things. ❤

Now that I’m older, I understand it. Some adult kids don’t have the time or money or health to get back to it. Some can’t get off of work, some don’t have the means or time to maintain a huge property like that. It’s very expensive. Maybe the family wasn’t in the Will. There are lots of reasons why these places are left to rack n ruin & sometimes bank owned .

Yes everyone's so lazy no one does work like this anymore or even bile homes with real wood. I've lot several of these type vedios. For some reason no one was more touching than this one. They can sire say they raised their kids right to move out on their on. Mayby they wrre very strict or something. I live in alabama. My father dies in Tennessee i got such a happy felling from this one place compaired to the other wished it could have been saved. Also the knobs and what not. Between u anything someone took them off because they were so beautiful and no their well ever be anything that pretty again and well made _! Makes me feel like i need to go play the lottery someone. Like uv said iv seen many but their was always said stories behind then this didn't have that it was a happy home. I no u not suppose to be for materials of this world and family is more impotyant orchards. Sure wished i could have saved this one thoygh. Now they well be just like everywere else crappy build homes so close their touching the wall of u neighbors no privacy abd so on. Im very sad . god bless u for showing. 😢

I have watched a lot of house tours and except for a forever home full of antiques this is my favorite it would require very little to bring it back to life. The colors and cabinets were fantastic top of the line construction inside and exterior. Can’t you just see your Daughter in her wedding gown coming down those stairs, your Sons or Daughters in their Prom finery posing for pictures on the stairs or by the columns in the great room, what a home not just a house. More often than not, when you sell a home you take the highest bid, and likely the contractor had the highest bid. When I sold my Grandma's Old Tudor Home, I only sold to a builder who was going to update it and not knock it down. But more often than not, folks only choose base on the bottom line. And as I posted earlier, since this was a pretty modern home, without much character or charm, this one didn't bother me. Now if I lived locally and they were cramming in Townhomes where there had been acres of open land, I would be upset to the change in the community. I say that as someone who lives in a town that was green and lovely when I moved in, and now is wall to wall McMansions. It was such a nicer town then. That said, we are running out of land to build on anywhere near metro areas.

Kids probably don't live in the area. Granted it's a nice home but who wants to live there when it's far from the city? If I were their kid and I lived in the city, I wouldn't move there. To give up my life, job, and schedule to move there, nope I wouldn't do it, and I know my siblings wouldn't do it either. I have siblings who went to college out of State and now they live and work in that State. That's how life goes for a lot of people.

The flooring you liked is called parquet flooring and it was a Herringbone pattern. I was thinking the range hood may have been copper and that is why it is gone. Cabinet knobs may have been solid brass and that could be why they are gone. Thank you for another great explore. Hopefully before the developer demolishes the home, he will allow salvage of the doors, light fixtures, windows etc... So others can get use of them, rather than just taking rubble to the dump

It just goes to show that having such an incredible home means nothing at the end of the day. Having money is meaningless at the end of the day. The amount of money that went into building such a beautiful home has ended up sitting there abandoned. Think of all those massive massive mansions out there. They, over time, will end up sitting abandoned. Ridiculous!! Another fantastic video, Big Bankz 👍👍

@gordonlink2981
@gordonlink2981 6 ай бұрын
If this property had such a clause I suspect it would never sell. While I agree that it's a shame to waste this I don't think a trust would have saved it. I think all the kids have gone their own way leaving anybody who wanted to stay unable to shoulder the finances on their own. I would wager that this estate is probably nicer than the current Governor's home. The state should step in to preserve it. Similar situation out here in CA w/ the Hearst Castle. CA now owns it cause the family couldn't keep it together.

Big developers push families out of their dream homes to get rich? What…? These are mansions. The people who lived there are the rich developers, hence the mansion. They abandon them ‘cause you can’t sell ‘em like you can a house because people with that kind of money custom build their estates and they don’t want someone else’s unless the price and LOCATION are right. It’s not uncommon for mansions to take YEARS to sell. Some do, some don’t.

I love the brick details on this home. The corners, the reveals, the alternating bonds of brick making an exceptional patterned design. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth...."

I hope they upcycle some of those beautiful Fixtures. The Kitchen Cabinets are gorgeous, the poor Old Boy had some Taste for the time and alot of this stuff is now "Retro" and probably better quality than what we are fitting in new home Builds! Nice Episode Man. May 2024 be a Prosperous one for you, your nearest and dearest and this Channel ✌❤🙏🍻🇬🇧

This was a true family home. No bars to serve alcohol. They cleaned up, didn’t leave piles of junk and pictures so they weren’t getting out of Dodge as fast as possible. Not a crime family or connected with the mafia, just hardworking decent people. Hopefully there are good memories that were lived here.

It's a shame the kids didn't wanna keep this home in the family. There must have been something going on for them to just let it go. I guess it could be the payout they got from the developer. Oh well...

It is so sad that a beautiful place such as this is going be demolished. Its not that old and seems to be in good shape What is wrong with these families that can't come together to preserve their legacy is beyond me.I suppose the money they will get from the developers means more to them. I also realize the money is just not there for them. Its so heartbreaking . Thanks Jason. Good video!!

What a beautiful house and property.. Almost like someone still lives there. It would be a great event venue. I liked the main stair case and master bedroom best. The red light in the master bath is a heat lamp. The stables didn't look like they were finished but did have bedding and food dish in one stall area but no doors. Would love to know the story. So sad it will be torn down. Such potential..almost move in ready pretty much. Great find and explore!

Beautiful home.. it's always so sad when we don't see the light of life shining through it and about to be discarded. Life the people who lived there didn't matter. The upside, maybe where the knew home are going to be built will provide many homes for many to make their own new memories? Thank you so much for starting with the scripture and then showing the last time anyone can see this and making it so it can be seen over and over in the future! You're preserving history.❤

Sadly most often being built is not homes of quality to be enjoyed for generations but cheap crap that won’t be around long before it gets demolished. Many cheap apartments owned by large corporations, gouging the tenants so they can never afford to save enough for a down payment on their own home
