Abandoned and forgotten Places in South Africa, Bethulie Dam Resort

My Father in Law ran the oord in his retirement years in the 1990s. When we were last in Bethulie in 2000 he was no longer running the oord and the town closed it. During his time running it, the cottages were mostly fully booked summer and winter. It was a great income for the town. So sad to see it destroyed.

As people got more and more spoiled with choices to holiday, places like this were just not good enough anymore. Way back people were not as spoiled as today. Also lack of maintaining facilities under a new regime have played a major role.

Thank you for your honest opinion, for every opinion matters and that is how I learn to overcome mistakes in my videos. That is what happen with every holiday or sport facility in each town from the blacks/anc took over. They dont know the word maintenance of tespect or look after
