many boats end like this, you never saw scrapyard of boats, rows and rows of boats in forest. in 60s and 70s people started to afford to get a loan and buy them these people where working class, but buying and maintaining is 2 different things. Boats where left in woods, in side road. to mainatain a boat you need money, than you start putting money into it all comes to whait a minute i could buy new boat with same specs without any work investment.

I cannot believe a young person like yourself knows about soft scrubs. I used to wash my car every Friday after work. One particular Friday and realized I was out of tire cleaner. Back then all of us pretty much had the white walls or the white lettering facing out. I went in the house and I saw the soft scrub and figured it was better than nothing. OMG I never seen those tires get so clean and it wasn't much effort. After that almost 40 years ago all I have used until this day all I use is soft scrub.

Wow boats are alot of work, i don't think most people think there will be too much maitnenace in them until they get them, not to mention the upkeep and storage fees, marina fees etc. Great job Foster!
@seanmartin2382 Жыл бұрын
Alot of the work can be negated, get a good boat cover, trickle charger (ours is a two bank), we keep our boat at the house. Maintenance is mostly just the yearly water pump/thermostat check up (still run a two-stroke). Marinas charge by the length of the boat..keep in mind if you are going that way. It's a 21 foot center console so not a small boat, neighbor has a 27 foot cruiser on his driveway.

Check the stringers and transom for rot and soft spots before putting in all that effort ? Sitting under a tree usually leads to clogged drain holes and a ruined/unsafe boat.

The soft scrub really works wonders on boats fiberglass interiors. Definitely don’t use it on the vinyl (easy to want to) but it will destroy the vinyl upholstery. Dries it out and makes it hard.

Watching you sweep and vacuum all those maple tree seeds to remove them from the boat was painful. I'd have used a gas-powered leaf blower (and mask) and sent those seeds flying (outdoors of course) and have been done with it in 5 minutes. They fly up in the air in the slightest breeze, let alone a 100mph air stream! Even up out of the bilge. The rest - you nailed it.
