Hi Elsie, the guy who owns this mansion now lives in the gatehouse on the same estate. In Victorian times, glass bottles and jugs were reused and recycled ... no waste. Period pieces of furniture fetch a great deal of $$$$ in America, crates of furniture are shipped from France to America for resale on a regular basis. I don't believe the same holds true for England even though England has a great deal of period pieces as well. Superior craftsmanship from pieces made in the past and the quality of wood exceptional. Huge demand for period pieces (antiques) in America, we can't seem to get enough of the old stuff!

The details in these 1700 and 1800's homes are just stunning ... I heard in the old days if a chimney was closed up it was because a child died well for stuck inside that often orphans n small people were hired to keep them clean if they got stuck they closed it up as a coffin and let them die so anytime I see closed up chimney in these older homes it makes me wonder ... This is what I do in my spare time watch abandoned videos I don't have a life I don't get to explore so thanks so much for sharing yours! Love your videos, so sad the bird starved to death in that cage it was a bird right

Hi Walter, yes i would have loved to look through the books and paperwork and smaller items in this huge place but as it was such a big house and i didnt want my video to be too long i decided to concentrait on the bigger items. I would love to go back one day and film all the smaller items though, thanks for that idea:)

Hi, it’s a tricky one really as things like the books really should be saved as there could be some really rare old historic ones there, although it would still be classed as burglary so I don’t take anything out of abandoned buildings. Thanks for watching

This is mind blowing, your exploration is really interesting. Who owns this place, is it owned by a municipality for outstanding taxes and is that why it has never been rescued or at the very least cleared for salvage? So many items of value would make it obvious for salvage rather than just let it all rot to the ground it would seem. Love what your doing and do a bit of exploring on my side of the pond, but we have NOTHING like what you have there. Thanks for sharing these awesome ruins.

The story about this place is that the owner now lives in the gatehouse of this estate, his parents both died in the manor and he couldnt bring himself to ever go back in the place again, he just boarded it up and left everything behind including all the photos, clothes, furniture and the memories. Very sad really as the place could still be saved and turned into a fantastic family home once more. Thanks for watching

I find myself coming back to watch this video every few months and i always try to figure out how you got up to the second floor to the bedrooms with the maps and how you got up to the landing where the stairs to the third floor would have lead and also up to the room with all the bottles and stuff. i still have no clue how you did it, i know you said you brought rope but did you tie a loop and throw it up around something that could support you? anyways great video, this is the best video by far done on this house.
@stare67112 жыл бұрын
Hey Josh, thanks for your kind comment. This house is what got me into exploring. When I used to watch the early videos on this place ( before things got stolen ) I couldn’t believe how amazing this house was and all the cool stuff that had been left behind. I had to see it for myself, I knew the upper floors were pretty much inaccessible so I took a large grappling hook with me which was attached to a rope with knots in it so I could climb it easily. That’s how I managed to get up to the map room ( although it took me hours ) The other room with all the bottles is a really cool room which took me ages to work out where it was as others hadn’t managed to film it before. . . . . . . . If you stop the video at 11.54 you will see a diagonal piece of wood at the top of the screen which was balanced between 2 crumbling walls, you could climb up to it using the doors up against the wall below it, then it was a death defying tight rope like walk across it to the doorway to the bottle room. . . . . . Not one I ever want to repeat:) I haven’t seen a video on this place in about a year and wonder what kinda condition the inside is in these days. . . . . . . . Thanks for watching

Saved a Queen Anne from 1825 with a leaning porch, now in in "mint" condition and of great significance. The materials are not as expensive as hiring labor, it is a question of will and effort. Suffice it to say, any establishment can be saved and cherished for generations to come.

Would be cool if someone brought in a drone with a built in camera and flew it up to the third floor to see whats up there. It looks like theres atleast three other rooms up there excluding the one you filmed and the one that collapsed
@stare67112 жыл бұрын
Hi Josh, yes that’s a great idea about a drone, that would definitely be the safest way to see what’s up there as it’s such a dangerous place now. I remember when I was in the library I was looking up at the ceiling as there was holes in it just to see if there was any way up there. . . . . An old explorer told me that before all the staircases collapsed they were able to walk everywhere and explore the whole place with no problems. They said that the 3rd floor above the library side was the children’s bedrooms. I’d still love to see them though as I still feel like I haven’t completely seen the whole house otherwise😞 Have you watched the old videos on the place with photos on the net too? It was know as Bull Manor back then as the owner had a huge bull in the grounds to stop people getting in to the place. Also the owner still lives on the estate, in the gatehouse infact which you can see on street view. Apparently both his parents died in the house and he couldn’t bare going back inside so just locked it up and left it as a kinda shrine to them . . . . . . . Crazy

@@stare6711I actually saw those two photos a couple of days ago and thought the same thing that they could be the third floor but i noticed the shiny disc thingy on the wall next to the door and i swore that i rememered seing that early in your video and as it turns out this hallway is actually on the first floor and the closest door on the left opens into the kitchen and the far door down the end of the hallway opens into the great room with the skylight. you can see that shiny circle thing, which might be some type of bell maybe, at 11:40 in your video, it looks alot different with the second floor collapsed down into this hallway.
