Watching these URBEX channels makes me sick about the utter waste of it all. All the time, skill, and money put into buildings just to be abandoned and allowed to decay. It seems like giving them away to someone, or some organization that could make use of them would be better than just letting them rot away. Hell, we have people who've no place to live and yet we still have homes and buildings just abandoned. At the very least allow salvage crews in to get some of the parts of the building. That greenhouse was awesome, it'd cost a fortune to get that kind of ironwork done today. Some of the doors, moldings, and fireplaces, not to mention some of the windows in the older part of the building should have some value.

back in texas many years ago we use to do what we called "old housing" we went in a old farmhouse and it was empty and long ago abandoned.. no furniture and buckets catching water from the roof. I went into a bedroom and it was fully furnished, and then I saw a small red light.... perhaps on a phone system... we left.
@efitz33972 жыл бұрын
I went to school as a boarder in the building you got into! The ballroom had a fantastic wooden floor, we would volunteer to polish it. It was fun, wearing dusters on our feet, the nearest I got to ice-skating as a child! I was there before the extension were added on, the dormitory’s were a walk away through the trees. Once I was running back to the school for something in the dark and collide with another girl heading in the opposite direction. We had matching black eyes the following day. We wore slippers in school and our shoes were stored in the cloakrooms in the basement. We attended early Mass each day and the food was nearly all from the farm. It isn’t that isolated for Ireland there is a village 3 miles away. Sad to see it’s deteriorating so quickly, I remember the house and grounds being pristine.

Hi, can you tell me where it is and what was the name of the original family, I ,m into history and in particular the old Georgian and Victorian aristocratic " big" houses in Ireland. In 1800 some 4000 of these house were in existance in Ireland. A lot of them were burned down during the Irish war of independence and civil war 1921 -24. They were great houses but those that survived irish independence were taxed to the hilt and this forced their abandonment unfortunately. I live near Castlehouse House in Kildare and tk god it survived, I walk the demesne every day for exercise.

Sometimes, old big houses can be as haunted as small new houses that are built on haunted lands. I live in a haunted home and work in a haunted shop (family-owned) here in Ireland. The cellar in the latter is as haunted as a catacomb, where you can feel ghostly fingers teasing your scalps and combing your hair, their airs blown into backs of visitors' necks. Above a cellar, we have over 50 souls haunting quietly in a room which was once a pub. Our shop is over 400 years old and it has been through a series of renovations over the centuries. We keep all hauntings as secret as possible for fear of ridicule from locals or curiosity from ghost hunters. Few people from outside had detected hauntings in both our places. I knew their signs, when I saw them getting jitters, their lips quivering, fingers trembling. I got asked by few: "Is your home haunted?" Luckily, there are always some spirits who have years looked after us and protected us from multiple dangers. If your home is haunted with a good defensive spirit or few, you are a thousand times safer there than in any place with dangerous burglars with knives. At home and workplace, I was multiple times saved from dangers like fires, burglars, stalkers, etc. I have one regular spirit in my life and he is my guardian. For a fatherly ghost, he is very elusive, noiseless and undetectable. He remains invisible and mysterious. He never speaks unless necessarily. He swings into action, only whenever there are dangers in my proximity and he thwarts them quietly. In the presence of unwanted intruders and immediate dangers, I sometimes feel his winds of flitting movements inside rooms, even with windows and doors locked. His presence is always a blessing. Once a unsavoury customer came into our shop. Immediately, a ghost made a wind blast as strong as a gust. I felt his wind behind a counter where I was serving a customer whose behaviour was threatening and intimidating. Behind me, this spirit kept vigil over me and ensured no harm to me. At the beginning, I was petrified of him, just because he was an unseen ghost whom I could not see and I therefore misunderstood him. It took me few years to acclimatise to his presence and realise him as my protector. In all the years, I have never seen any evil in him. He has over 20 times saved my life from stalkers, rapists, murderers and also from evil spirits. He has also responded to my emergencies like few heart attacks, brain haemorrhages, fires, choking, etc. He responds to crises too. Also, he goes everywhere with me, always thwarting dangers on my path and throwing criminals off their balance. He treats me like a child, most times never alerting me to immediate dangers and always keeping me in ignorance of them. I once overheard him calling me and my family "children" in his conversation with other spirits. He loves children, especially child visitors from outside. He keeps watch over them, especially when they go exploring our cellar. If they go ghost hunting, he gives them friendly scares like rubbing their scalps with his playful fingers. He does not leave them disappointed.

Such a beautiful building! I would much rather live in a piece of history than any modern building!

My family’s ancestors built this house in 1790 and it served as their seat until the 1820s

Enjoy seeing old architecture. This place was lovely. Too bad it was deteriorating.

I usually don't subscribe to these, as most do the same things. Plus know very little about it. You guys do different structures, you try to find history, info on the place. The biggie for me, is you are VERY respectful of the building. Going to subscribe to your channel. Keep the great tours up...
