Abandoned Bowling Alley with Power | Urban Exploring with Freaktography and Forgotten Productions
Here we have an old abandoned bowling alley with power!
See the whole photo gallery here:
www.freaktography.com/abandon...
I explored this old bowling alley with Craig from Forgotten Productions, they had discovered and explored it briefly a few months before but never got a proper explore in, until now when we returned.
Reading the reviews online of this abandoned bowling alley, it's no surprise that is has been closed down! Many reviews complain of terrible food, terrible staff, overpriced food and drink and many more complaints.
The bowling alley had 24 total lanes with 12 upstairs and 12 downstairs as well as pool tables on both floors. As we explored we noted that there were light switches in a back control room and when I flipped one on the disco balls lit up, all 3 of them!
As I continued to flip switches I was able to turn on almost all of the lights which made for a much easier explore and better quality video!
Huge thanks to Forgotten Productions for this one, you can follow them at all these links:

I was a Brunswick mechanic for many years. The machine you found at the beginning is the oiler, which strips the lanes and oils at the same time. The scoring system looks like the Brunswick 2000 system, with the color monitors. Yes, the ball racks were missing from the approaches but all the power lifts, at 3:02, were still left there. I used to sell those for $500 each. The pinsetters are Brunswick A-2's, which are fairly common and highly available these days. I loved working on those machines. Excellent video!

Another twist in 9-pin: the pins are set up in a diamond formation instead of a triangle. The pins are white, except for the center pin, which is red and is known as a "12-pin" or "redhead." If a player knocks down every pin in one turn, they are awarded 9 points. However, if they manage to knock down all the pins except the red pin, they are awarded 12 points, as this is a much harder feat.

Colored bowling pins are for things like games or events you put one colored pin the machine and it's the head pin and you get a strike you win a certain amount of money those as well basically the same thing with kid games or stuff like that it's been awhile since I've used them so don't know the technical name of the game anymore

No difference with a red vs a white bowling pin. Usually if it's in position 1 you had a chance of winning like a cup of coffee etc if you knock down all 10 pins (varies between centres ofc). The ball elevator is still there even though the ball return is removed.

@@Freaktography I've been in the bowl of business as a mechanic for about 23 24 years they look like Brunswick A2 machines but I haven't seen a good enough shot of them to know exactly I also saw on the boat lifts there were hubs and belts so I'm wondering if it's just a cover from the ball lift is missing because the motor would be Underground

3:19 That's the lane conditioner. Puts oil on the lanes. The oil helps advanced bowlers to slip the ball as it curves toward the pins. They curve, or "hook," the ball to hit between pins 1 and 3, the area for a perfect strike. I myself know how to hook a bowling ball. It's quite simple, actually.

Freaktography, if you look at the pins as a triangle with the top point being the number one pin. Each one are numbered, so if you throw you first ball and knock down all the pins except the number 5 pin & the number 7 pin, that’s called a 5 7 split. It’s one of the easier ones to pick up because there’s only one space in between them where the 6 pin would’ve been. There’s your bowling 101 lesson for today. Lol.

The closure of the bowling alley based on the narratives were due to bad reviews/complaint about terrible and overpriced food and drink, staff attitude and many more. But the Administration actually can improve on those complaints by hiring professional to restructure the management of the bowling alley. It could probably takes months to see the results, but it's worth it in the long run. Or maybe it was found to be expensive and not worth it. But the most spectacular part was the bowling competition between Freaktography and Forgotten Productions. I was expecting Freaktography for an upset with the nice bowling shirt, shoes and the killer looks. But unfortunately it did not happened. Anyway I enjoyed the videos with good presentation as always. Thanks for the tour.
