ABANDONED Bradford's Richard Dunns Sports Centre And WATER PARK : Abandoned Places

An iconic building to many Bradfordians. Most of Bradford will have spent hours in this place over the years. Brings back so many memories, training the gym where the climbing walls were, in the swimming pools and on the slides, playing 5 a side and squash. Even remember seeing Zlatan Ibrahimovic there to see his son take part in a martial art competition while he was at Manchester United. Cheers for the footage lads.

Walking up the steps to the slides with the rubber ring was the most intense workout as a kid 😂

I spent a good amount of time in that building back in my childhood days, for swimming and indoor football/5 a side and its crazy to see hows its turned into now. Would of loved to see it during the day just to get a feel of how big the place is and for long shots of old hallways etc would of been cool

I grew up up literally almost a stones throw away from there, learnt how to swim there in 1978 before the water slides were installed. Last time I was there was 90/91 ish.

Surprised you guys had the balls to go inside the empty slides, think it would've been a different story had you gone into the cobra one. Pretty grim and depressing looking at it's current state, it was so vibrant when it was open and functional. Great video.

I work at Sedbergh now as a cleaner! I know from speaking to staff who worked there they have said that the buildings stripped bare of its Wiring/pipes etc theres no water or electric running anymore as people broke in and kept stealing the copper pipes and wiring. Its a shame its gone to ruin like it has but it needs pulling down. And yes there was a climbing wall!

Aha yes thought it was a climbing wall the place has such history surprisingly I expected it to be a bigger ruin so was glad to do this when like this :)

Dude when I was like 11 I was stuck at the top of the orange slide because some kid broke his neck the workers told my dad there was no one up there yet there I was with some other randoms and what did the sports centre decide to do? Shut down

@@BeardedReality at the moment it seems to be the plan just let it be striped for scrap by thieves and vandalised by youths,breaks my heart,yeh concrete structures ain't the best looking but this building is so unusual and a fabulous design.

The very pool I nearly drowned in as a kid! By going down the cobra for the very first time! Will never forget it! Especially with them having to sound the pool alarm! After I shouted for help as I was strugglimg then a few years later I found out it was a 7" deep landing pool! The lifegayrd even said to me if I could swim , me stupidly said yes not knowing why he said it! I knew then by the time i got thrown into the landing pool and was sinking, and me having to bob myself up with my tip toes! But it diddn't stop me going down it a few years later! As I went a few times as a kid! Best childhood memories! But I went just before they closed down! Never got chance to go down the cobra for the very last time which was a shame!

Nice explore. Really cool it was use for a stand by morgue. You are right it will be destroyed by vandalism eventually.

Yeah the place had been vandalised abit which is a shame and it was going to be a stand by Morgue but never used for that purpose

the biggest crime i see here is the one the council committed by closing it and also the amount of equipment left that could have been given to schools and youth projects

I came recently and couldn’t find any entry points. Doors/holes have been blocked off with metal sheets or even bricked up. I checked today. Also there are cameras up.

I live 30 seconds over the road from this I used a 10 Mm socket to take off the metal sheets on the side I made a few entrances 😂 played massive game of hide and seek police came I was only one who got out 😂 there was like 27 of us bare police I have the memories I ended up climbing through the roof took of running police got stuck in a gap in this fence cause of the big belly just laughed at him and then started walking
