I want to rescue this truck, but first I have to get past the RAT who has owned it for awhile. She cleans up pretty good!

Test drove a baby blue Luv about 1991. Took it a mechanic on the test drive. Within 10 seconds he told me to take it back to where I got it from before it broke. I'll never forget that. Ironically I have a friend now that's been driving one since the 80s. He's replaced the motor a few times, but it's still on the road. His wife hates it :)

My heart goes out to you man, she will always be your everything! It’s amazing the things the human mind can cope with, your loss, my loss of my son in 2014, the unimaginable but somehow we still get up most days and face the people who will never understand our never ending sadness. Billy Bob Thornton did a interview I watched, he lost his brother as a young man, and he said he’s now only ever 50% happy, he doesn’t trust happiness now, and that really hit home with me. Then Puddin says he’s born in 91, so he’s just a couple years older than my Colin would have been, and I cry some more. My best to you brother, from Canada 🇨🇦

@@mykee426 hey man, I just came in from forcing myself to stop and sit quietly. It’s warm here in Canada, and as I soaked in the warmth I bet I cried 5 different times. Colin was me, I absolutely understand the feeling of losing your soul. I’ve had destructive behaviour too, luckily I live with a person who actually has a degree in grief, who does grief work as her life’s work and she’s taught me that this is my lot in life now, it’s your lot in life too. It’s been 7 users since Colin died by suicide, tomorrow will mark the 6th year since his best friend died by suicide, a kid I’d know since he was 4, the only thing that’s changed for me in all those years is the frequency of my meltdowns, and the time it takes to recover, that’s it. Know you’re not alone and that you should be proud of yourself for just functioning some days, those how’ve not been through it will never understand and let’s hope that those thinking we should, “ just move on and get over it”, will never have to experience this much pain ever! I live in Virginia,and in 1976 my mother and father bought them a brand new yellow chevy luv truck with a automatic transmission in it on the floor.and you know they both still have it today in there garage.with a little over 60 thousand miles on it.and they still drive it back and forth to church and the grocery store,except the church and store is not over 2 miles from there house.the truck is still in mint condition and a many of people have tryed to buy it from them but that keep telling everybody no that there little luv truck is not for sale and never will be.my dad is 95 and a ww2 veteran of the Normandy invasion and the battle of the bulge,and my moms is 93 and both of them are in great shape for there ages.so there's at least one chevy luv truck left in this country that is not for sale right now no matter what!!!!!

In 1981, the design is completely different from what is pictured here. In 1982, that was the introduction of the smaller S 10 Chevy truck as the LUV was phased out, the S 10's were the newer trucks introduced into the automobile industry market. This also was also the plan for Ford Motor Corporation as I believe the Ford Courrier was still available till about 1984, however the Ford Ranger was selected to become the newest small pickup truck in Fords lineup of trucks while the Courrier was eventually phased out. Dodge, on the other hand, in connection with Mitsubishi motor Corporation started producing the Dodge D 50 which was their small pickup truck offered to the public, as they had throughout the 70's starting in 1971 the Dodge Colt which started the small car market, leading the way before 1972 when Chevy introduced the Vega, and Ford, the Pinto. A lesson to be learned today, as now that we all are paying over 5,6 and 7 dollars a gallon for gasoline, the car and truck manufactures SHOULD return back to manufacturing these small pickup trucks with regular cabs, and small cars with smaller 4 cylinder engines for fuel economy instead of what's being offered now, these gas guzzling 4 door station wagon trucks with wagon wheels and thin tires on them along with these cookie cutter SUV's that also guzzle gasoline by the gallon.
