Socialiaziton used to (and still does) be a big problem for children with mental ailments, so they actually used to go to bowling alleys to help them socialize. As well as live theatre, and sports that the patients could play without hurting themselves or others.

And by the way.. The silver balls you saw in the patient's rooms, aren't cameras. They're just mirrors. The shape of them helped the guards, doctors, and nurses see the parts of the room they couldn't see, by looking through just the small windows.

I went to a hospital before and what they did was a thing called 10s and 30s (something like that) and if you were good and not hurting yourself or others you'd be able to get on 30s if your doctor allowed you. With this you had extra freedom like sometimes you'll have special opportunities to go to the game room, the gym, or even outside (but that's rare) so maybe they did something similar??

I've been in 3 mental hospitals. I was on the children's ward twice and the adult ward once. I'm better now, though, so I probably won't be going back, but I can tell you by experience that the adult ward is scarier. On the children's ward, it's more like just a daycare that you sleep at. You get medicine and therapy, but they also have activities like arts and crafts and stuff like that and you get to go to school for two hours on weekdays (you basically just do the school work that your school sends to the hospital, but they have a teacher there to help you if you need it.) The adult ward is basically a prison with medicine and some therapy, but not as much as you get on the children's ward. The staff doesn't care about their patients and some of the patients are seriously messed up. I feared for my safety on the adult ward, but I wasn't really that scared on the children's ward, although I did miss my parents.

The so called 'caretakers' of children and adults were extremely cruel. Mainly because they didn't yet have the knowledge that is here today, yet still there is cruelty in the present times, so like they say, "history does repeat itself". So sad to say and even more sad to know.

Spira It has been documented. Whether knowledgeable caretakers or not. Kids, adults, and the elders WERE abused in many different ways, this be in the 1800's and beyond. It still happens TODAY. I imagine, you may not want to believe this is so. Maybe rare, NOT! In the way past, anyone with mental disorders were put out of the main house to starve and die. When I was about 12, I found this abandoned house. We broke into it with a crowbar, it hadn't been touched for years. There were photos of deformed children in the bedrooms. In the attic there was meathooks, it was really creepy. Wish I would have recorded it, but they renovated the place into a veterinary center now :(

If you are serious about this make sure to wear gloves coz you might accidentally touch fungi. Bring something to protect yourself. I did this with four of my mates and some random guy jumped out of the hallway and we had nothing to defend ourself with, Also a lot of the abandoned places are dark and big so keep track of where u came from coz it's really easy to get lost

+Camera Girl A daddy long legs spider is the best kind to let live in your house. Not only does it kill/eat insects but it will kill/eat other spiders. It won't hurt you at all. It was the only type of spider (that i remember) that my mom would let live in the house but only one though. You don't need many and you don't want to be cleaning up webs and dead bug bodies. lol

What I really like is that there was once a kid or person touching those things, they have memories with them. A kid was once sitting on the ground playing with the toys or reading and they loved it.
