ABANDONED Cinderford Hospital ALARMS WENT OFF

I’m local to this place, grew up near here and there’s lots of controversy over this hospital. The surrounding area had a big mining community with some big deep mines (now all closed) and this hospital was paid for by donations and fund raising by the local miners over the years. The NHS trust recently closed the Dilke hospital and Lydney hospitals in favour of the new smaller hospital that’s just been built and recently opened in Cinderford. Here’s a brief look at the history of the hospital… Following the death of the Forest's Member of Parliament (Sir Charles Dilke) in 1911, fund raising commenced to establish a local community hospital. Subsequently The Dilke Memorial Hospital was built as a permanent memorial to the popular M.P. on a site near to Lightmoor Colliery, Cinderford. The hospital first opened its doors in 1923 and was funded until 1949 by public subscription and fund raising events. The NHS trust now want to sell both the Dilke hospital and the community hospital, something that the locals don’t want to happen! Campaigners want to transform the building into a mental health and wellbeing centre so that vulnerable people have a “safe place to go". Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, which owns the site and has put it up for sale, said it "will take both financial and social value into account when considering offers".

They will. Almost certainly refurbished or knocked down and rebuilt for the 33,684 (and counting) new residents who have come to 'enrich' our country. 👎

That place looks like it's not been empty very long. I wonder why all the Security ? Unless they want to use it for something in the future. But as always great explore Matt

The pigs in cinderford are lazy, they probably turned up about two days later, I’ve got stitched back up a few times in the Dilk ruspbridge I didn’t know it was closed but I wouldn’t now as I’m in sumerset now.

So I know the site very well as we do the security for the site and monitor the cctv 😂💀 the site is used for police and dog training exercises
