My first car was a 1973 Datsun pickup like this. I didn't go too far into the engine and stuff, but I did replace the water pump, fan, starter and a few other various things. Always had electrical issues. If I put the headlights on high, it would blow the fuse and none of the lights would work. To this day, I always think about that when I turn on the high beams on a car. Engine itself ran great though, until I wrecked it on an icy bridge. Thanks for the vid, a good trip down memory lane.

Holy crap. So many memories! I had a '71 520 with the L16(?) I bought from my grandfather for $500. She sounded a bit like that one with the tappy tap valve (#2 I believe). Well, until I found a 1800SSS motor in a junk yard. The truck was totaled a few months later but I bought it back from the Ins company for $185 and pulled the motor. Wrecking yard gave me $150 for the rest . Bought an '84 Nissan (in late 83) with the ins money and drove it from the dealer to the garage where she was promptly lowered enough to chip the porcelain lane buttons when changing lanes in some parts of the city. That 1800SSS motor went into a 510. Enough of my reminiscing... Very enjoyable video!
