On October 16, 1997 the doors of the zillion opened without the media hype that would later know the disco. Most visitors came from the province of Antwerp and the Netherlands. Striking at the disco was the immense technical infrastructure. After the rise of previous mega-nightclubs as Dockside (now Versuz) in Hasselt and Boccaccio (now Riva, formerly The Temple) in Heusden there were few new dance chain opened more and especially enjoyed smaller, specialized clubs great popularity. The Zillion filled this gap in the market perfectly, thanks a light show which completely rotated to the dance floor and 500 intelligent spots like moving heads and scans. In addition, to enhance the visual aspect, use of industrial robots, fireworks, confetti cannons and a dance floor that hydraulically could disappear about 25 cm.
The music was under the name of dance, trance and house type.

Zillion basically ruined my clubbing life. I had just started getting in to the scene in 2001 when I had a chance to work in the Netherlands. We started going to Zillion that fall. Every weekend for almost 6 months. Every other club I went to after that was a joke in comparison. Favorite club moment was always the 2nd big drop in Tiesto's Flight 643. The floor would drop, and that wall of lights would hit to the beat. I'll remember it until the day I die. I'm just glad I got to experience it.

Great video, loved it. Please do wear a HEPA mask when going into these places. I am a Respiratory Therapist, and I can tell you there are many bad diseases you can get from these places just from breathing the air and touching things. Mycobacterium Avium, Legionella, Tuberculosis, Psittacosis, Aspergillis, Hanta, etc, etc. You guys are too handsome to get sick.

I remember being on the dancefloor in the main hall... it litterally dropped down when the music had a drop. Instant crowd freaking out... :) It really hurts to see it ruined like that. It's a shame it can't be put into it's former glory, not only because of the governmental issues but also because going out has really changed over the years. A huge dance complex like Zillion wouldn't work anymore like it used to. Ah well... memories :)

I was born a full year after the zillion closed down. For 18 years of my life i had no clue the zillion was even a thing. But then the movie ce out. And wow. The whole building was already do incredible to see in the movie. But when i looked up real footige of the zillion back from 1998 and 2001. I was just shocked of how much money and thought was put into this place. And what even more shocks me is that the zillion started in 1997. You would expect for sush an amazing place to be made in 2010? Or sum. But nope 1997. Oh boy you 80s kids are so lucky for being 18 and older when zillion was around. Wish i could have been there

1:51 was the computer for alcohol use, and the scale weight for drinks. Each bottle had a ring measurement and the computer knew how much. That's why are so many hard drives in the electric power generator

Sad to see it decayed, i used to go out there when i was young, back then it was the place to be One of the highlights for me was the lightshow, it was really insane in zillion, i absolutely loved the lighting rig they called the caroussel, the sub in time out in gemert, NL has bought it or made a copy of it, you should check it out on youtube it's quite something special
