The documents hanging on the hooks are the olden day equivalent of our modern filing cabinets...

The last room that you were in was the workshop and laundry. What you thought was a bath was the old concrete laundry tubs...
@wernersadventures83304 ай бұрын
Hi Bruce that was probably the best room there was so much to see in there. Concrete laundry tubs wow so they would have tossed the dirty socks and jackets in there and washed them. Nowadays with all of the fancy washers we get lazy, I’m just picturing Mar doing the washing with a large wooden spoke tossing about those clothes. Cheers again mate😊😊

Other than newspapers, documents, clothes and trash most everything there is far older than the 1990's. Those folk seemed to keep it simple. Thanks for the tour Werner! 👍🤠 Notes: 20:58 Google lens shows it's whats left of a cream separator, parts are missing. An exact match is listed for parts only on Gumtree for $100. Seller in Truro SA. 3:08 I noticed the speedometer numeral script, ignition switches and exterior door handles are identical to the General Motors products produced here in the US back in the day. Also here, Dodge and Plymouth were Chrysler products back in the day, never related to General Motors. I've also noticed Aussie Fords and American Fords have the same identical exterior door handles in the 70's. Holden, Wikkipedia: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden

Hey John I knew you could tell me what that scale looking thing was, whenever I see something now that I have no idea I’ll ask you to find it for me those were the days of hard work. And mate you know your cars too cheers John glad you enjoyed the video until next week😊😊
@tedburnard8414 ай бұрын
Yes, it is an EJ (1962/1963). The speedo only goes up to 100. It went to 120 on the EH (1963/1964). Also the crash padding wraps up into the A pillar on the EJ, it doesn’t on the EH.

also the eh has a fuel cap and the ej has a door. cheers, we love our holdens. eh holden sold the most of all holden cars.
@wernersadventures83304 ай бұрын
Hey Ted I see a lot of these old holdens on my explores, thanks for confirming that it was the EJ cheers 😊😊

I think we can say that one is beyond economical repair. Shame it was a nice house. Great location. Holden was GMC the same as Opel in Europe and Vauxhall in UK. While in Australia you often got the big American tanks. In UK we got smaller noddy cars. The big Yank tanks were grey imports. You had Australian factories building the Holdens. UK factories built the noddy cars. Now sadly neither build much of anything. We survive out of the East. Weird mix in that house. A lot from sort of sixties era. But then telephone books from early nineties, and yet not much else said from that period. Empty a long time apart from the flying rats.

Hey Dave it would probably be a lot to get this old one live able again but maybe you could with a thorough clean and lots off cash. And the old Holden was in pretty good shape for its age (1963) I didn’t even check to see if she had an engine, but if she did you could get it running again. Hey mate I’m glad you enjoyed another episode until next time cheers for watching 😀😃
