OMG! I fell in love with the furniture in the blue and white bedroom. 😍 At 29:12 I hear a woman’s voice. Dave says “it’s a shame” over what she says, though. Then again, a voice at 30:17. A child? And Dave was no where near that perfume bottle when it fell. The camera panned by it still on the table as he was leaving, then it was on the floor.😳

Every time I see this place it just really shocks me that it is still in decline, no one is trying to revive/protect this place. It screams Rocco art in every room. The study looks like there are quiet a few books missing from what was there before and that is a shame. Because that is truly the most amazing room to me. So much knowledge locked in forgotten, books to never be opened again is such a sad thought.

I wish Dave that the French government would list these Chateau's for sale, after they have followed all legal options with the owners then to leave them to decay. I have viewed so many that are worse off than this one for sale and they are empty, all the memories left behind is just so sad. The Pink bedroom at 16:13 the wallpaper is "toile de jouy" created in France. This place is endless, and just stunning, another great find Dave, thanks for bringing us along. Love from NY.

A beautiful Chatau, thanks for taking us on a tour of this amazing place. The French society in the era this place was built in believed the higher the ceilings and doors stood for a show of wealth and grandeur. The bedrooms with twin beds was the respectful way couples lived or slept back in those times, in fact most couples had separate bedrooms and the man would visit his wife at night when needed. The bed is put sideways in most rooms for ladies or guests as this was to accommodate the personal maid/maids room to dress the lady. The object you keep refering to as a baby's bath is in fact a toilet, servants didn't have access to the toilet in there rooms at night so they used these and emptied them each morning. The apartment with the liw ceilings was probably used by the live in childrens Nanny. The Blue room showed matching hand made wallpaper in small 40cm squares that were placed on the walls and glued lining up exactly, having material matching which was exclusively designed woukd have cost a fortune in those days. The stage would have been for opera singers or music artists, in that room would have been a grand piano originally. The room in the 1st space of the main staircase that you refered to as a ballroom was infact a 'Porcelain' room, another display of wealth with cabinets of rare china and ornaments, it probably would have had posh chairs and large porcelain figurines in there. The newspapers and wooden cigar boxes etc were to light the fires. Downstairs the wine cellars were fantastic, they obviously made their own wine, probably had their own Cooper making the wine barrels etc. Keeping old locks and keys and door knobs were essential as these things were impossible to replace or obtain. Loved this, you really should start watching other films rather than just Harry Potter 😊💕🇦🇺

What a beautiful place and your so lucky to see it in person. The decor was breath taking and I thought the outside was beautiful but the inside was unbelievable. As beautiful as it was it's also quit active, at 29:12 I heard a voice that sounded like a whimper or laugh, you were on your own. It happened again around 30:18 and at 35:17 I thought it sounded like a growl or your were hungry and that was your stomach. Hands down this place wins over all the others , just no competition. The others on the series were lovely but this place.. it literally has it all . As someone whom has an eye for antiques , there were some stunning pieces . The artwork is something else , every room with all the painted wAlls and ceilings😱❤️. That’s another thing too , the bedrooms , omg , every one of them so coordinated and set for it all to match up , I’m totally ocd everything has to match , so that was just totally on point for me . Then the icing on the cake with the bedroom with the previous popes photo . Talking of photos , the dark room , how awesome was that ! In the age of digital camera, let’s be real , how many places and people will use a dark room now , those cameras will be damn near obsolete now . Only thing I don’t like is the taxidermy. I’m an animal person and not to be a Debbie downer but animals as decoration is just wrong in my book . But seriously I love this castle so much . Houses such as these usually wind up in this condition because the owner of the title is having their ownership contested in court. The original owner and their descendants could not reside there for a multitude of reasons so the house fell into its present condition. They had similar issues in Great Britton once and the various estates took possession of the family castles that were no longer owned by the families. Now they are responsible for the upkeep.

What was that weird sound that starts about @ 29:12 ...Almost sounds like a woman's voice...Kind of like crying. I know you had others with you ,but It looked like you were on your own at that point.. Maybe birds? But anyway that place is amazing!

Yes, I heard that . I played it back and it was a woman's cry voice.

@@Alison_Bennett It was kind of creepy and sad at the same time..not saying it's paranormal ..Maybe Abandoned World Explorer knows what it was.. But I got goosebumps when I heard it. I do believe in ghosts ,but I am one to investigate first.

@@racheallange2056 yes it was creepy and sad. I have had quite experiences in England castles and 1 home experience in the States but that was years ago .

@@Alison_Bennett I have seen things other don't all my life ..I have been to Waverly Hills in Louisville, Kentucky many times ..Lived in an old farmhouse in Kentucky ..but now I live in Bavaria,Germany .now it is a new ballgame ..I had to deal with a grumpy old man who liked to growl at me..LOL He was harmless but grumpy.

Well I loved this place! I love all the secret panel doors and the amazing matching rooms. Wouldn't do the whole roon like that in my own house but think it just looks so grandeur with all the draping over the beds etc. Awesome.

Hello, I just got done watching this. It's an amazing experience. There was some paranormal it a couple areas. Like a child's voice. It is ashame that this place isn't preserved or the artifacts aren't being put in a museum. Awesome video thank's for sharing.

This location, by far, is THE BEST one you have found in France! Loved your other trip to France- but this one takes the cake! I love it when you tour it by yourself. I’m sure it’s fun with your buddies- but love you commentary and your insight to what may have been!

That is stunning! I really enjoyed this one! I like how you try and figure out what happened to the people, like an investigator. I wish we new the whole story though. keep up the great work!!

Hi, the Abandoned Castle was the Most Amazing, Beautiful One I have ever seen on any video! Only 1 thing that bothered me, was not open the window to let the bird free & come back later & closing the window! You 3 did a great job filming this video in every room! Take care & stay safe, Love from Rantoul, Illinois
