Wow! I was born in Bloomington and lived there for awhile and still have family there. I wonder where this is. Thanks for sharing. I know it gets very cold. My grandparents house is left abandoned in Helmsburg which is a little ways from Bloomington ...wish I could go back and see it. They passed away in the 80s. My grandpa made the concrete picnic table that looks like a tree is growing up against it. Hope you check it out.

@christymckee8133 It's on the main road going to Bloomington. Between 1st and 2nd street across from there...(Its been a long time since I've been there.) My sister thought the house was to be torn down but she was wrong. The house has signs in the yard saying it has been left to natural wildlife. The house has signs that says condemned. She says the whole property is like the woods have taken over. I thought maybe the state or city would take over the property but I guess since after my Grandparents passed away the property wasn't given to anyone and was just abandoned. Not sure...

Yes,it's on the main road through Helmburg on the right. There's a concrete picnic table in the yard that trees are growing up around it. It's a two story home with a basement, the house is white with teal green trim.

The entrance by the old truck was in very poor condition. The one in the back would have required moving some stuff around to squeeze in. I personally was a little worried about the quality of the floor too, given there was a basement. Thanks for watching!

This is (for me) in the top three of the most mysterious and cool abandoned house locations I've seen on KZbin. I really wish the inside of the house could have been thoroughly explored. Have you considered going back and exploring the inside? I also find it amazing that the roof is not completely deteriorated since its been abandoned apparently since 1977!

If you are trying to find the owners, you need to go to the Monroe county recorders office to fine the tax records/deed holder. It may actually be owned my the county/state because of a possible tax bill, maybe even the old owners passed away with no heirs to the property.... just a thought. I am pretty sure I know the location, but I have not been in that area for at least 12 years.

I lived in a "haunted" house for several years. Lots of unexplained things happening; lights turning off and on, doors unlocking, tapping under the kitchen cabinets and I had a very personal experience in the basement. I had that overwhelming sensation that someone was standing behind me and when I turned, sure that I would see my brother standing there, there was no body. It sends a chill up my spine to this day. I absolutely am a believer in the here after. Be safe and be respectful. God speed.

My mother and grandmother (her mom) experienced similar happening is their old home. They both describe the same dramatic nights, one of which they packed up and left. Ghost stories are fascinating, I wonder if we'll ever have a true understanding of the paranormal.

I think technology has definitely advanced our ability to at least prove that there is more to life than this physical rhelm. I personally find great comfort in knowing that there is more. I am Catholic and they preach that there is no such thing as ghosts; I disagree. In fact I believe that Heaven isn't too far away. I guess we will just have to make the trip to fully understand. Nice chatting with you. Be safe.

Forget the House, look for a property dump or an Outhouse every time you find an old place! Give the House a once over then get permission to dig up the Dump to find bottles and accidental Rings they threw out with the refuse, and under the Outhouse where they always hid Their Valuables! Have fun and stay safe!

I bet there are some abandoned properties in the more rural areas. I know I'm rambling here, but it's crazy how the internet connects people. Two completely different lives at roughly 10 thousand miles apart, and you'll be able to read this comment in a few seconds tops.

As a Paranormal Investigator I can tell you the following: Yes. ALLEGEDLY spirits drain batteries for energy. But since you said "It's 23 degrees", I would lean more toward the cold killing your batteries. Just like a car battery gets cold & won't start your car, those so much SMALLER batteries react the same way to cold. " NOT" saying 100% its not paranormal. Just saying odds are it was the cold. We have plenty of experience investigating outdoors in frigid tempratures. Sadly, its a common occurrence.

That large bus was from some kind of contractworker? There are cans of paints all over it.

That's a good question, my guess is that it was being used for storage. Good theory though!

+Jamie Jamers My friend and I like to leave things undisturbed. We ‘touch’ things but won’t damage or cause any type of vandalism or destruction.

The bell by the entrance makes me wonder if the house was actually a school at one time. The windows are unusually large for a house, making me wonder if the structure was built for another purpose. My family used to have a bell like that as a farm bell; it had a beautiful sound. Maybe the clapper is still in the bell in your video; after perhaps many years of silence someone will ring the bell again.

The pickup truck in the video looks like 1938 or 39 GMC or Chevrolet.
