@urbexindigo51646 жыл бұрын
Hey Patricia thanks so much for watching and your comments. Haha yes in a few of my videos I have my spider web stick! I`m quite tall and seem to find them if i do not clear them when i see them. In the summer in the long grass it is good to have a stick and tap it out in front of you on the ground because if there is any snakes that are lurking they will hopefully try and go the stick first. :-)

Awh my mum had that carpet in her hall stairs and landing.. The one in their hall. Loved the marble in the en suite. Such a long house, it's meant to be unlucky if a bird or frog comes into your house or so ive been told. Pity there's no history with it. Cheers.

This is a really nice find. I hope that someone buys it and fixes it up before it gets too bad. It seems to have a lot of bedrooms and common areas. It looks like it's in a very rural area so maybe it could be for a large family, a small elderly care home, housing for developmently disabled people, shelter for abused women/children maybe, thanks for the explore.

Actually this home looks very much like The shelters for battered women or possibly an unwed mothers shelter back in the 1970s. But this was not a sad home. They cared enough to take their personal belongings. Seems like they packed and moved on and left the heavier pieces behind. I was happy not to see toys, photos, books, personal items, etc.

Definitely could be restored. Loved all the french doors and bet the whole house had hardwood floors underneath the carpet (am a huge fan of wood floors and the "timbered" ceilings I see in your videos of older abandoned homes there). Group home for the aged, eh? Pretty nice compared to what I've seen here and big need for that in the US, is there too? Am I to assume too isolated for services such as medical, etc? Curious why abandoned. Thank you for the lovely tour. Very nice video!

Hi Paul. I watched this six months ago and then had another look today. I agree with the sadness you felt. Looks like a standard bank repossession or tax seizure property that are all too common here in the United States. :-(
@blackberrybunny6 жыл бұрын
Is this in the U.S.? I think Nick is in another country perhaps. . . .
@tomrich33986 жыл бұрын
It's deffinetly not in the U.S. Look where the light switches are and how high the door knobs are on the bedrooms.
@blackberrybunny6 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, I noticed those things too. Especially the light switches. It's so interesting to see how homes are built in other countries. I'm guessing Nick is in Australia.... Also, so interesting how the bathroom, the toilet that is, is often in it's own room, outside of the house itself. I'd hate to have to walk outside to use the bathroom, but there is usually always one of them inside as well. This outside toilet idea is great for when you are outside doing dirty work, like yard work, and you have muddy boots, but don't want to track mud to the inside. It's really a great idea!
@briandaly72366 жыл бұрын
@@blackberrybunny I apologize if you misunderstood, I wasn't insinuating that the house featured in this video was located at the states , I was simply making a reference to the growing number of vacant foreclosure/tax lien properties here in the U.S. :(

@KimPatts6 жыл бұрын
That's the feelings I was getting. I've watched many of these abandoned homes on KZbin but this is the only one that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Wish I knew the history of it.
@urbexindigo51646 жыл бұрын
Hey Kimmie I was able to find out that this place was an aged care facility. If you watch the intro there is the name "Newbrae" on the front of the home which is a chain of aged care facilities. I`m going to dig up some more on it but it would be fair to say some elderly people would have died in this facility over the years.
@KimPatts6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for looking it up. You're probably right about some people passing on there if it was an aged care facility. It just creeps me out because at each turn you took while recording I kept expecting to see something jump out in front of you or see shadows of someone who's "not there" if you know what I mean? You are a brave person to go in to the place like you did. I'd be high tailing it out of there, lol.

Oh I agree with Christine T wouldnt it make a fabulous refuge fore women and children..all of those acres for the children to play in, trees to climb etc. There should be a law in this day and age where you are not allowed to leave houses vacant. If someone dies and there is no family the shires/councils should be able to sell them or refurbish them for that kind of purpose, not make money out of them.... thanks for the viewing...cheers from the west

Wow. Just wow. A few cosmetic fixes and a new roof and insulation up there (the ceiling staining in the room that leads to the sliding doors and patio looks like critter pee) and that place could be totally livable! Amazing property, too. I would imagine it being in the more arid section of Australia. Yeah a bit more roof damage in the section of the old light sconces and some foundation settling. But other than the wicked ugly carpet not too much needs to be changed. Look at all the storage in that kitchen. It is a cozy wee kitchen. But all that natural light. Oh, I could love that house if I had the dosh. And since there is traffic noises it isn't too far from some sort of civilization. What a beauty. With all the housing needs world wide it is such a shame so many lovely places sit vacant. Have you seen this one more recently? Is she still there? Thanks for the explore and noticing an improvement in your camera techniques since then as this is 2 yrs old. Thanks for sharing, mate.

Why are there two toilets in one of the bathroom right next to each other? Is it a multiple person bathroom or is it some kind of fancy toilet arrangement? What I mean is is one of them for number one and the other for number two or is one of those toilets the kind rich people have that wash off their bottoms and such?
@urbexindigo51646 жыл бұрын
Haha yes Jenny it is the fancy bottom washer next to the toilet. Would have been the master bedroom for the owner or caretaker as this place was last used as an aged care facilty around 2010. Cheers for watching Jenny :-)

It is common in Europe, it is called a bidet. After using the toilet, you move over and wash your bottom...

@urbexindigo51646 жыл бұрын
Who knows?? A house that large is usually built for a purpose and A very large family would have to utilize it which is quite possibly why it is unused and abandoned.

Easy mystery to solve mate, just jot down the physical street address and visit the local tax office who will give you a lot and block number for the property, then you can find out if property taxes are current and if they are who the owner of record is, then simply contact them and ask details. If the owner of record is a lending institution or it is a tax seizure property get busy and put in an offer, because it looks like it would make a easy flip ;)
