Yep, this location served the A&W root beer. There are about 6 Long John Silver combo locations still around Columbus, about half paired with KFC and half with A&W Restaurant, which serves typical American food like burgers and of course the root beer.

Nice video. Here in Phoenix, we had a KFC and Aand W combo. On the garage can it say mug return. Now it's fully KFC after a remodel and the mug return sign is gone. The building looks like the building in this video.

I found one of these a while ago in Aurora, Colorado, but I'm jealous because the one I found was papered almost all the way around, barely got a glimpse inside. Similar setup though, LJS on the drive thru side, KFC on this side, similar design choices, similar signage, etc. etc. Not identical, but similar.

Work not to far from there. The service was absolutely horrible.. wish it would of went under new management, instead of closing. At one time it was an A and W so you would return your root beer glass mug at the mug return Good coverage Wallie

Cool video as always. I used to live closer to Obetz several years ago and would come here quite a bit with my daughter. She would usually want KFC when I was in the mood for LJS so it worked out. I'm still in the area often and I'm honestly not sure why this particular location closed while several other LJS combos around Columbus remain, some with KFC like this one and some with A&W. It's right off 270 but while most of the food options are to an intersection to the south of the 270/Alum Creek interchange, this one is to the north and while I wouldn't call it desolate by any means, it is a little out of the way I guess..a short distance from the actual roadway and not very convenient if you are wanting to get back on 270 going south on Alum Creek. A lot of semi truck traffic in this area. I'm not sure exactly when this closed but I think about 2-2.5 years ago, and 2 Sheetz locations were opened in the area including one almost across the street from this one. Covid caused a lot of FF closures but again, other LJS combos remain open so not 100% sure what caused the doom of this one

I have to say, the Bojangles in Columbus (along with everywhere they are expanding) is a shadow of itself in its core area. There's no bone-in chicken, no mashed potatoes, and no all day breakfast. Really disappointing. As for this video, Wallie, far from disappointing. Great job!

That one has a huge parking lot! There used to be one of these combo KFC & Long John Silver's about 45mins from me. We didn't eat there a lot, but when we did it was ok. Bad thing was, it was in a "hotsy totsy" town, too basic for the residents and sales never were all that great. It lasted maybe 2yrs and is now a medical building.

Yah that mug return was for the frosty root beer mugs you would put them there after you was done with the ftosty mug we have that at ours but i dont see where there was an advertisement for the root beer at this location theres usually a thing inside that has the mugs in it i dont see it at this one🤔i do like long be gones once on a wile whenever my stomach can take all the grease that comes out of the chicken and fish here but ive gotta say there chicken is goooood its goooooooood 👈🏻quote😆
