WHOA! We stayed there in August 2017 for our 6th anniversary. I went back through our pictures, and we stayed in Suite 11, which had a large bed, kitchen area, a living room area, and a hot tub. Cost about $200 a night. We were always getting turned around in the hallways. I remember the odd thing that we still talk about was the little alcove called "The Book Nook". It had a couple chairs, a table, and a bookshelf with books and board games, and a fancy clock on top.

Always be careful exploring these abandoned places. You never know what or who could be hiding inside for some unlucky person to fall trap to.

If I was homeless and lived in Topeka Id really consider taking a room in this joint! They have to have a laundry room or something with all clean sheets and such. Better than living in an alley! Be safe

everyone has their "happy place" where they just consider as their favorite place to go to and hang out. mine is Fairfield hills, an abandoned asylum complex lol. not the usual happy place for most people, but its mine

I could see why. Mine was a cement factory. I've been to the place like 20 times but still searched everything for something I might've miseed

Another fantastic video, great to see Victoria again! Glad you didn't run into anyone, it definitely looks like a squatter haven...even so, it's one sweet looking abandonment. That look on her face after you mentioned the 8 foot drop escape was priceless; just ummm...nope! Kudos to her for bracing that door; that's something I always try to be aware of, and tend to preach to other explorers...the wrong door locks behind you, very likely you're f***ed! 😮 Thanks for sharing, this was awesome, I'm definitely excited to get some content on my upcoming Midwest trip. Stay safe and take care you two! 👍😁

Doors that might lock has been a paranoia inducer for me for years, luckily I still haven't had any major incidents getting trapped anywhere.

@@Jabefighter It's the tiny room at the beginning at 7:15 point. Pretty much everything is gone except the book case and the picture on the wall. If you look real quick, you'll see the sign on the wall that says "The Book Nook"

I was surprised to see this video. I actually stayed here in 2012. The place was old and dingy and dirty. Some people we were traveling with had to be moved rooms because the AC was broken and another because their door didn’t lock. The architecture was cool but you could tell the place was going down hill even then.

Kind of creepy! Those threatening messages you found written on doors to rooms were disturbing. Some mentally ill person must have written those. Be careful in those places because I was watching a video the other day where these guys were exploring an old house and there were actual booby traps set up in there. Someone rigged a knife to come down attached to a board to stab whoever tried going up the stairs. They saw it in time, though. People are insane so always be leery in these places.

I think the guy working there or management wrote that before it was completely abandoned and thieves were breaking in.
@GLING172 ай бұрын
@@JaredCokerUrbex Oh, I see. Kind of makes sense if you think about it. He was trying to scare them off more than likely. You had mentioned that in the video about that guy being there right after the place closed down.
