Abandoned Macy's - Lima, Ohio

Welcome to the abandoned Macy’s located in Lima, OH at the Lima Mall. This Macy’s location was originally an Lazarus department store until the chain was bought out by Macy’s in 2005. In 2020 it was announced this Macy’s store will be closing in 2021. This Macy’s location closed in 2021 and has been sitting vacant ever since. Let’s go take a look.

As a kid growing up in nearby Van Wert, this mall was the backdrop for many a childhood memory. We would hit all the regular spots here, doing the yearly school shopping for shoes and jeans, and waiting for what felt like forever for my mother to leave the fabric store across the street. I wanna say it was Joanne or Hobby Lobby. But the best mall in this area actually closed earlier on, it had a really cool variety of non-mainstream fixtures and a ton of character you just didn't see much of in the later years of malls. It had a massive value store like a better version of Ollie's, and a neon-laden movie theater, many of the typical mall stores you'd expect and a lot of smaller shops nearby like bookstores and collectible shops. Last time I was in this area was about a decade ago, and we could all tell this (Lazerus) mall was on its very last legs. Sad to see it go in a way. Thank you for sharing this walk around tour.

Hey Slacking Packing there is a similar façade at the Mall in Ontario Ohio at the Richland Mall which is actually part of the Hospital.
