here in UK, you could buy a conversion kit to put a ford motor in mazda rotaries, so that pinto lump may of been in that mazda, more research reqd to confirm, but best to bring it home with you just in case. rx8's are nearly finished over here now, just a few decent ones left even that pinto lump is getting scarce over here, used to be in every ford for sale, bar the fiesta, loved those engines, powerful, simple, reliable. sold a plastic air cleaner for a 2ltr. pinto cortina, [wiped the muck off it first, but still old junk] for £120 earlier this year - crazy prices over here at present. id be bringing that one home first, then doing the history bit whilst its in your yard, could be worth a few bob.

Australia didn't get ford pintos so i don't think it had one of those engines. may have had something simmilar from a Aus market car.
@televisionandcheese3 жыл бұрын
@@dylanwilliams3807 I'm pretty sure only America got the Ford Pinto. I may be wrong, but the Ford 'Pinto' engine is probably unrelated to the usdm car of the same name. The Pinto engines are inline 4 SOHC 8 valve engines, in 1.3-2.0 L. Pretty sure they're made by Ford of Europe, and were used in basically every RWD ford of the 70s and after. Sierras, Taunus/Cortina, Transit, Granada's, Escorts etc. They were used and sold in AU too as they got several cars by Ford of Europe, such as the Escort.
