This home is gorgeous! Yes you are right, here it is very hard to find pristine homes preserved like this! Here in the states, most abandoned or empty homes are ransacked, suffer theft, or squatters move in. I appreciate so much that you are keeping this house from being discovered by others. Too many can't prevent themselves from taking priceless objects. You two are such an impressive pair of men to explore and leave all as you found it. This goes to strong character and admirable qualities of honesty you both possess!

I can tell that this house had a profound effect on you guys, especially Remon. Such an unusual home and memories of a multi-talented and compassionate man. Seems so wrong that no one respected him enough to share the gifts he left behind with the world. It cuts to your core sometimes to see how such a full and diverse person is just gone and forgotten. What I wouldn’t give for those ART DECO antelope book ends! Stunning. 1920s-30s. Question...How many times do you walk through a home & property before you show the public the final edited version? The lamps on the walls in that wonderful little bathroom are HANDS holding the torches! You did not find where the basement water was coming from? The outside of garage? Water heater? There is a Japanese paper umbrella in the umbrella stand. The doctor appears to have been well traveled with a keen eye for art & antiques. The woman’s portrait in the jewelry box is called a CAMEO, carved from a shell. I was an art major in high school and college. Now I’m 65. I LOVE the paintings. I THINK the doctor used the attic as his studio. Your find of this magical home is spectacular!
@cesarkauz6680

Hi Jean..! What a good taste - the book ends are one of my favourite pieces too - the stile looks a little bit like "Max le Verrier"..? I think, the bedroom was ransacked by the heirs themselves - the choice they have made looks done with knowledge - the cameo seems to be a cheap plastic repro - the bracelet i'd guess is a fake 750/18k-marked so called "rest stop"bracelet, these were used to cheat naive (swiss) tourists on italian highways mostly in the 70ties/80ties to "borrow" money (3-500.- swiss) with the promise to pay it back after coming back from holydays... 🤔 Best regards César

César Kauz I’ve grown up with art and antiques. I’m 65 now ( I can hardly believe it myself ). I do have a small collection of Art Deco items, as well as a fine collection of Art nouveau small spelter busts of ladies, some opera figures I think. My walls have painting by my parents and myself. We all attended art colleges, though dad was self taught and became somewhat well known in the American MARVEL comic book world. Thank you for your previous response! PS: my thought after watching these videos is that family DOES go through these items first. Then the ‘vultures” swoop in. ☹️ I too wonder where all MY wonderful items will go. My kids don’t want them, and husband says he’d probably dump it all. I’d rather not know, though I did tell my kids to sell everything. 🤔

@jeansiegel4128 I understand completely and even with my parents items we could only accommodate so many between 3 children. My daughter and family moved in after selling their smaller house. The 3 sets of China and other items in the built-in china cabinet we left all that. The home burned the day after Thanksgiving in 2023 but all in that cabinet was ok. Thank goodness. We live in U.S.A. It is hard to add to all we have now in our life. I wonder also who wants ours too. I have a daughter and step daughter with combined 8 grandchildren. ❤

I’m sure the Doctor is looking down appreciating what you guys are doing because after all that’s what he worked for, lived for and he deserves the recognition & he wants to share his love & story to the world. I would want someone to do that for me, everyone can be a museum to the world... 0:25 I have a Persian carpet almost the same as this one in my living room. 4:01 Reel-to-reel tape recorders were common up to the late 1970's when cassette tapes took over. I owned one myself and still have a couple of tapes that I have no way of playing any more. 4:47 That is a front-loading VHS video recorder and player. 5:17 You forgot to check for coins under the sofa cushions. LOL 8:15 I like the two Chinese (or Japanese?) pictures on the wall. 11:05 They are beautiful ornaments. The glass door is a good way to keep dust out. 11:31 That looks like a table for playing cards. 14:10 He looks like he is in his 80's. I think he had a good life. You did NOT blur his face. LOL 18:42 Underwear. Poor guy probably did not expect his underwear to be on public display. 19:28 I keep all my medicine in the fridge because it keeps much longer. 22:00 Long videos are not a problem for the viewer 25:00 One day you will discover a hidden room in the basement with the body of a long lost girl inside. 26:54 That painting is by the same artist as the painting at 17:38. I cannot find that artist on Google. Might bea family member who was an artist. 27:45 That wooden statue looks Asian to me. Probably Thai because of the position of the hands. That is the "Thai Wai" greeting. Having a "greeting statue" in the hallway makes sense. The costume is also traditional Thai. 32:45 All those paintings were by the same artist, Y. Maelfait. All original hand paintings probably by a family member. 33:57 Botasol is an antiseptic I think, and the bottle Ether is to knock people out... lot's of Ether. :) 34:59 All the Morphine has been removed. LOL 41:12 That is a cameo pendant. 45:55 That attic is huge and must have been his/her studio for painting. There are also large windows for light. 49:24 Definitely a girl's room. Female clothing and picture of ballet dancers on the wall. Both girls probably long since grown up. My thoughts? I think that a place like this being left to rot is a crime. There should be a process where the government or a charity can come in if no relatives are to be found and salvage all the items and the house. Even if the items are all sold by auction, the proceeds could be donated to people who have little in life. I really hate seeing all these places decay after a few years. You have shown me so many. It is a terrible waste of beautiful furniture and art objects. Just the Persian rungs on the floors are worth many thousands of dollars each. I have a carpet almost the same as the one in the main hallway and it cost me $4500 way back in 1988. It is still under my feet as I type this. Items like that should never be left to rot. I often feel very sad watching your videos. But in any case, thank you for the tour.

In the doctor's area you came across a really dark narrow room where you thought the doctor would see you, you held up a thin fim that was x-ray film not used. That's what x-ray film looks like before it is taken. They probably developed the x-rays in that room by hand. I had to do that a a doctor's office back in 1980. The room is dark as not to have any light or reflection of light ruin the film. There was probably a place for vats that were stainless steel where the fixer solution and water was as part of the film process. He could also have been a doctor who specialized in the ears, nose and throat, and or head. as well.

The necklace that was on the bed in the bedroom that was gone through, is a "'Victorian Cameo," which was extremely popular in the 40's 50's all around the world. Even in America my great grandmothers and my grandmother's wore them as pins, earrings and broaches on their clothes. The color pink background was very popular, as well as light baby blue background. The Cameo necklaces, the profile of the woman's face was made out of shell, coral, stone, lava or glass. The hand carved ones were the shell ones, but the others are not hand carved and not super expensive. The backgrounds were carved out of conch shell which gave it it's pinkish/orange color and the foreground/profile was white or cream in color. Then the cheaper molded plastic is made to look like shell bit it is visible thicker. Cameos that are "technically "real" if they are made from a shell and worth more than those made out of plastic, and they were usually set in brass, and sometimes gold or silver.

Maybe the mother/wife or the daughter was the artist. I really appreciate the way you two young men respect the property and the memory of the individuals who lived there. You even speak softly in the rooms, you don't go around yelling and shouting. You handle the belongings when you look at it very gently and you teach others' how to respect what to do when visiting abandoned places. That's why I subscribe to you both. The mantion has beautiful. However you gave away enough clues that others will find it with ease. I know I could. Please watch it and see what I mean. I love the videos you make so please don't go to patreon completely. Some of us can't afford that. Thank you!!! Cindy Davis

The artist's name on all the paintings for a start. Public records of recently deceased doctors. Several more I can think of. Even that very brief view out the window at the distinctive hedge across the road would be final confirmation of the site for someone standing outside.

Wow. Once again a wonderful video. Your respect and candor are so much appreciated. Leaving things as you found them is a good idea. Hopefully the Family can come back and re-claim the antiques etc. The paintings look like they could have a place in a Art Museum. Thank-You once again for another wonderful adventure on your journey to new places. Take Care, Much Love For Health & Safety. Looking forward to the next video.

You are both so professional and thoughtful. You set the standard high for all others that follow. That home should be lived in, not left to decay. It is so fantastic and beautiful. If it weren't for cobwebs, water in the basement floor and ceiling damage from an unknown source, this house could easily brought up to date and lived in. The piece of jewelry with the womans head looked like a cameo. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Hi guys! 03:47, you never see such a recorder... But this is not so old, 70's, early 80's... That's what I have in these times, to listen music without changing vinyls, just before the K7. Do not take it as a criticism, but your surprises are sometimes funny. I'd like to speak with you for real, about all these things that seem vintage to you, and common for my generation. Can you imagine that in my family we had our first "vintage" B&W TV in 1966 ?. In my youth, a shower or a bathtub was often a luxury. There are things that would surprise you, for example, do you know that gas stations in self service are less than 40 years old. Exactly 50 years ago (1970), I was doing my military service in Tahiti, and in a letter, my mother told me about the first hyper market in our city in France, I could not imagine what it could look like; She said to me "a large hangar without soul or human contact". Can you imagine a grocery store without plastic packaging or blisters? Sometimes I chat with young people your age, and I have the impression that they feel my youth as I imagine the Middle Ages; For example, -Me: My parents have no car -Eux: But how did you go to school? BTW, keep the good job. Your curiosity is positive. Friendly from France. Charles ============================================================== (In an other comment, I had ask you what kind of drone you use, but may be you miss the question).

Absolutely beautiful furnishings. And every room, except that one, is so neat. I think that a family member was the artist. The doctor would have not had the time to do all the painting and have a practice, too. Or that is how I feel. Thank you for sharing this home with us. It truly is one of your better finds. I hope someone will come and get everything out, before the black mildew gets too bad. Again , thank you.

that room with the sink and the dark walls looks like a room you'd develop Xrays in. You'd need that sink and the dark walls, and no windows to keep out the light. Also, you should've looked at the meds in his refrigerator. You didn't even touch them! I'm sure it would give clues to his illness and the expiration dates would tell you pretty much how long it's been abandoned. The calendar on the wall was just something he liked and kept. That hallway - when you turned the lights on - it was elegant! I caught my breath! Good one!
