Sure is nice seeing the beautifully done graffiti, and no prafanity or rude pics. The whole place is so beautiful it is sad that he couldn't build his dream. Thank you for sharing. Safe travels always.

When I was a kid, the main structure was still in place. You could walk up to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the resort etc. It was so cool.

Hi Dustin , I am a fellow adventurer such as yourself and currently reside in BC as well. I am wondering if you have ever been to the Kootenays or have heard about the myths legends stories of old ghost towns and mining towns of the west kootenays . Close to Slocan BC and the Nakusp area there is a place called Valley of the Ghosts ... very interesting place. If you are thinking about a new destination adventure this would be the place to check out .

I was there in 1997 and at that time there wasn’t any graffiti and there was way more to the structure. There were wood floor beams and some walls. As well as a massive central wooden post that held up the start of a rooftop over where that fireplace and curved stairway was. I’m guessing the wood has all been reclaimed as some of the timbers were massive and worth a ton of money. I remember there being a ton of snakes there as well.

Reminds me of abandoned ski lift engine house I used to go up to on brohm ridge near Squamish. Camped out in the concrete structure there in winter once. Might still have a Challet there, was for snowmobilers last time I was there, many moons ago.

My mistake! I was told it burnt down, but apperently it was near-complete, abandoned - as you said, and burnt down shortly after. You learn something new every day! 😮 Thanks for the info!

As always, I enjoyed your video, but KZbin has a policy that is extremely irritating. On all videos, when dialog stops and background music starts, they jump the volume way up, but it's not consistent. On some the volume jump is moderate and merely irritating. On yours, for some reason, they hammer it and it keeps me jumping for the mouse. You project well at about 3/4 volume, but then when the video cuts to music, it nearly blasts me out of my chair and have to turn it way back to almost off. Why do they do that ?? Is there a work-around ??

If one tries hard enough the beauty of this place is still evident. Unfortunately there are people who believe every blank wall or piece of rock is their own personal canvass on which to tag the crap illustrated here. What has happened to this place is NOT art or artistic it is a crime. The pristine views of this place were ruined with the very first spray bomb. From that point forward every self centered idiot unable to think for themselves added to this blight. What gives anyone the right to believe places such as this exist simply as a back drop for spray paint. Do the rest of us a favor go purchase a piece of plywood from the home centre and get your rocks off tagging it all you want but leave PUBLIC spaces in their natural state for the rest of us to enjoy. Why the hell should I be forced to look beyond this mindless drivel to view "Beautiful British Columbia". Dustin thanks for this adventure.

Go look at BWT: Broken Window Theory from Germany. The shots in an old 1930's era are awsome as there is a beautiful skylight in the control room. It's art deco with dragon flies. It's history, not garbage. BWT has a second summer through Italy up.
