@@RexTenomous that is absolutely what it means, when a government site is shut down or abandoned they copy and discard sensitive and classified documents. If government employees accidentally put classified documents in files not explicitly intended for such it would sorta ruin the point of them being classified. Though most of the tests done on this range were not terribly secret, there was even a high profile accidental explosion in the 70s. So the files here are most likely benign and others were most likely copied and purged. Such as the information prudent to the containment of nuclear waste on the range, (against the wishes of the reservation due to desises and other horrible effects from radiation exposure). What I wanna know is why it was even a Russian sign at all. This is in Utah no?

@@Logisticious_gg It has to do with START I and II treaties, which stipulate that the US and Russia can send inspectors to each country to verify that the number of nuclear weapons do not exceed agreed upon numbers. Since Tekoi was a missile test range, it would of had Russian START inspectors visiting to ensure that the missile tests did not result in new nuclear ICBMs above the maximum nor that the tests were facilitating anti-ICBM missiles that would give the US a nuclear deterrent advantage. So it make sense that there would be signs in Russian to notify them of rules specific to the location. When I was stationed at Minot AFB as a Security Forces officer, there was about one or two visits a year from Russian inspectors to look over the ICBM sites and nuclear cruise missiles to verify the numbers of weapons matched what we reported. Yes, it's paperwork from what I assume is testing of the Advanced strategic Air Launched Missile ejection, but it looks like configuration data for the test leads. Far from interesting I'd say. This may seem a little crazy, but I think I know a guy who used to work there. I went to Utah for a wedding a couple years back and met the groom's grandfather who was a missile engineer in and around Salt Lake City starting in the '50s and '60s. He started and ran his own missile design company with 4 of his friends, made good money at '60s value (so a lot more today via inflation) from government defense contracts. If I recall correctly, his company designed bombers and/or missiles for Boeing, but in the 70's he sold his stake in the company. He said that they would often work at a military base near Salt Lake City, and according to Google Maps, Tekoi Test Range is a little over an hour's drive from there. Sadly, I think he got Alzheimer's a couple years back, but the man was a literal rocket scientist designing missiles. He also had an absolutely insane life story, such as how he fled East Germany as a kid illegally to Canada. Edit: I found his online profiles, and he actually had his own company in the '80s where he designed for Boeing.

I am curious about the history of the "❓" character. Not the "?" character, the "❓" character. A cursory search turns up that it was introduced in Unicode 6.0 (2010) as one of the the first emoji. I know these characters were introduced for conversions from some proprietary Japanese character tables. I wonder which one, and why "?" didn't suffice. EDIT: For context: This video used to be titled "❓".
