as you looked back at the base of the tree near the river is a grave from the first settlers a boy was drowning his mother went to save him both perished sad

There is a video on Belbin's channel showing a part of the bridge from around 1956. The construction of the steel sides seems to be of that latticework style. I did travel over that bridge many times in my younger days, but I can't remember any details.

Next time you're in the area walk underneath the current bridge (specifically the East side FROM Rydalmere towards Parra) using the Parra river active transport path. There is a section of the bridge still standing. It's hidden from above.
