More 200 Year Old Remnants of Old Sydney
Here’s some footage of more remnants of Old Sydney.
Gate posts from the Devonshire Street Cemetery (where Sydney Central Railway Station sits now).
These early 1800’s (200+ year old) Sydney sourced sandstone posts, just like the ones moved to Rookwood Cemetery as featured in my previous post, but these posts are at Sydney’s Camperdown Cemetery.

You also walked straight past the memorial stone for Edmund Blacket - previously buried at Balmain Cemetery then his ashes interred to St. Andrew's Cathedral. Also of note at that cemetery are the victims on the Dunbar shipwreck. You described that cemetery as "eerie", and you're not wrong. In 1946 (incidentally, the same year those Devonshire Street gate posts were relocated there), an 11 year old girl (Joan Norma Ginn) was raped and murdered within those cemetery grounds. Her murder was never solved. If I'm not mistaken the public outcry from that horrific event is what led to much of the cemetery grounds to be converted into what is now Camperdown Memorial Rest Park.

The Rookwood cemetery railway station building (is no longer there) was sold and relocated, piece by piece. Was in a poor condition prior to being sold and looks magnificent now. Would make a great video for your channel.

the Newtown cemetery is popular with the locals. it used to be a heavy drug area with people coming in from communities, still a spot for people to hang out and the common dog walker. so may memories in that graveyard. some pigs come in and graffiti on the graves, and sandstone walls tho
