That greenish box you walked by a little before 9:27, looks like a trap shooting launching box. My brother in law had one at his farm and we had tournaments for shooting trap, round clay disks.

Interesting vid. I have never even thought of the concept of an abandoned gun range. Cool vid. It looks like a farmer uses it now/ has camp outs there judging by the stuff in the newer club house. Not fully abandoned but still sick. P.S that was not a well with a bit of water in it, it was a cattle trough. Cool vid.

Pretty elaborate range! We have a military range near us that doesn't have as many buildings. I've not been to many gun ranges, my dad taught myself and my brother archery. So archery range was our weekend hide outs lol. Probably because my dad was in the military and a cop he had enough guns on duty. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Donelle, yep you would have far more clue about these type ranges than me, I only could see the sheds just through the trees which is what made me stop and take a wander through but there was an old sign in the grass saying pistol range. Thanks for watching :-)

Been working my way through these incredible videos, and only just came across this. In Oz, those huts were called Nissan huts, much used by the Australian Army. I HAVE heard the name "quonset" & now I know where it originated. This is for Paul: I used to work in a bank, long time ago, I took a couple of pistols home planning on a long Easter weekend up in the Flinders Ranges. Lotsa bottles & cans got shot. I would've shared the same fate, had my boss found out... BTW, I couldn't kill anything. I can't even go fishing. Love guns, though...

That was a very cool find and video all the way around - no doubt! Were it I though - would be checking into both of those tractors though - see if I could get one or both to run! The John Deere had a nice loader on the front and what looked like a back hoe on the back - could do some pretty serious landscaping with that one. :-)

It's beautiful and so peaceful out there. Am so Glad to see the rain coming down. I used to target shoot. We went to a couple different ranges.they look pretty similar to this range. I had more fun tho..going out to a friend's farm to shoot. Everyone would show up and bring along their mini arsenal..haha. I preferred to use the handguns. Not the 44mag tho. I hated the recoil from it. They've left behind..some really nice equipment? I wonder what they are planning to do with the range and tractors? Thanks for the tour..Stay safe😄

The half round building is called a quonset hut here in the states and indeed it was used by the military. It was interesting to see the old shooting range. I was thinking that it was a good place to find bees and snakes. With all the deadly ones you have, better safe than sorry. Here in Michigan where I live we only have one venomous species. A pit viper called the Massasauga rattlesnake. It is a pygmy rattlesnake that usually is shorter than four feet and normally its bite won't kill an adult.

Interesting target range. Although I would think they would have a berm or wall at end of range where they would be shooting, just to make sure no stray bullets are going else where. Looks like a big area and maybe they still come around to care for the buildings that are locked up.

So sad they did that! They tried in Virginia and the left wants our guns, but in Virginia a few of the left went moderate and voted no on the gun grab. Although, they passed a few laws that were not so cool, like a person can only buy one gun a month. Our 2nd amendment protects all the other amendments.

Interesting old range though it looks to me as though it was never fully completed before closing down. The part with the bitumen area would have been a Carpark and not part of the shooting range simply because if they were shooting in the direction you indicated, the bullets would have been heading towards other people, so your direction was 180 degrees out. PM me as I should have some history on this place for you, I was a competitive shooter for a long time.
