In this episode, we explored a house named “Casa da Pintora”, which means "house of the painter" in Portuguese. Because Mrs. Maria, who lived in the house, was very fond of painting. Besides that, she liked to play the piano and write in her diaries. Mrs. Maria's husband was a surgeon and although he was very busy, whenever he could he was at home with his wife and daughters.
Being the home of a surgeon, a very important person, it is normal to be quite large, with 3 floors, many rooms, and a huge attic, but despite this, it was a relatively modest, but very interesting house.

The metal kitchen gadget was part of a rotating grater. The popular brand was Moulinex. They came with interchangeable discs for different cutting patterns and sizes, and a removable handle to turn the discs. The round pieces in the sewing cabinet were curtain rings. Thread was used to attach the curtain fabric to the ring, then the rings would slide onto the rods. Wardrobes are for clothes, cupboards are used in kitchens, cabinets are for storage in other rooms. Free standing furniture for storing fine glasses and dishes are often called "China Hutch".

Not a vacuum. A rolling sweeper. They use them in movie theaters...restaurants...There are bristles brushes in side on a roller. As you push it back and forth..the bristles roll across the floor and catch the dirt up inside the pan. Good for picking up dirt and crumbs.

The doors...the sparse and simple rooms...reminds me of something in a Van Gogh painting. And you are perfectly right about the age and the position of the bedroom so close to the door. Hey Maureno and Remon, the object you found 21:10 is not a vacuum cleaner it's a mechanical carpet sweeper sold in the United Kingdom since the 19th century and called a 'Ewbank'. Hi Maureno and Remon, Explomo, It was great fun watching this video, because you showed a lot more than just the subject of your exploring activities. - For me it was as if I would be travelling together with you through a mountain region of Portugal. - These small private scenes in the RBnB and the lake, where you could take a refreshing bath, was just very enjoyable to watch and felt like a holiday brake. - The little house at the side of the road was interesting to see. - Thank you once again for taking us through your main explore, the abandoned house of painter Mrs. Maria, as you call the "real drill"! - Your spontaneous visit of this house made the filming and commenting probably even more exciting for you than your usual routine, as I presume. - Beautiful details after my opinion are these coloured glass panels above the door arches. I also liked the "Bingo room" with these really vintage magazines. - Wonderful video from the fabulous Dutch boys from the team Explomo: - Amazing! I am already looking very much forward to your next adventures. - Stay safe and wishing you good health, peace and lots of blessings. Kindest regards from Switzerland.

Hi Maureno & Remon, those red bullets are shotgun shells and that big metal item you thought was a plate I think is actually an old tin bath, they would fill it with hot water from a saucepan and then use it for bathing, most times the whole family would use the same water, that is what I think it is. What a lovely old place that last house was, it had so many things that date back to maybe even the 1st world war, awesome. Thank you for sharing. x❤x

The chairs were Directors Chairs. They fold up and in the States can get them bar heights. The bakery cutters were cookie cutters for roiled out cookie dough. The thing you didn’t have a guess about was either a lemon, lime press as noted below. Could also have been a garlic press or even some type of grater; definitely missing parts. The carved top bed and matching wardrobe- you can just ship them on over. They’d go in my bedroom ☺️. Haha! Lovely explore. Enjoyed the old ones too. Food at the Air B&B looked good. Thank you for taking us with you. Safe travels. Looking forward to the next. PS. Liked my tote bag so much I’ve ordered a fanny pack. Will wait til that comes and then send you pic.

I find funny that people don't know what it is because just like a stick blender , more used to make soups , the Passe vite it's a must in a Portuguese kitchen to make mashed potatoes. Here an old one like the one in the video for sale as an antique. www.custojusto.pt/setubal/coleccoes/passe-vite-antigo-24496961 Here the Passe vite used today. www.olx.pt/anuncio/passe-vite-electrico-ariete-IDynJUZ.html

Hello friends! Those wooden rings they found in the furniture drawer in the living room are part of curtains. I thought it was strange to have a bathroom right next to the room, this is not common in homes. That giant pot in the room below the roof was probably used to make sweets. The magazine found on the game table on the top floor below the roof was called "magazine of photonovelas" which were very popular when there was not yet television and soap operas to watch, people bought these magazines and the photographs and texts followed the stories.
